"the place is an island on it's own and looks like a James Bond villain base from the outside. Inside it's got so many baths and just cool areas to explore. The room itself is comfortable and there's even a little convenience store near the front desk so you can get room snacks easily. I picked up some of the pickled plum udon noodles to cook at home and they were delicious! Meals are a little crowded as they're buffet style but the food itself is amazing and so many different things to try. I recommend coming here at least once and staying two nights if you can."

Room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the bay. Bonus: separate toilet and bath/shower setup, which was convenient."

"I am so happy I found Hotel New Palace. The rooms are clean and large, staff is gracious, breakfast is really good. The onsen is a bonus. So nice for a relaxing soak every evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here in the future if I return to Shingu. "

"This was a very cozy stay. All amenities and documentation were well prepared and the place was clean. The host was very quick to reply on Expedia (less than 5 minutes) even at 20:00/8:00pm. If you have a family, having a rental vehicle is a must since walking is unsafe, especially in the evenings. Parts of the walk from Shimosato station and Taiji station do not have sidewalks. Access to the the Nachi area for Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route isn't the closest as you'd have to take train and bus, which can take up to an hour in total. If you have a vehicle this place is perfect!"
