Nice place!
Nice place right in the heart of McKinney. It is on a road the gets a good amount of traffic, so you have to be cautious if you have small kids.

Great time!
Our stay in McKinney was wonderful. Our only issue was at check in, as our check in email had the wrong property listed. When my code didnt work, I double checked the email, and realized we were at the wrong property. Once we got to the correct location, everything went smoothly and we had a wonderful time.

Perfect Location!
The house was perfect for a quick girls’ trip! The location is so convenient to the beautiful historical square where there is plenty of shopping and eating! The house is exactly like the pictures. We would definitely stay there again!

The location is excellent! Downtown McKinney is a short 10 minute walk from the property. Ample parking, great communication with the owner, quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our 5 day stay in this comfortable & cozy home close to Downtown McKinney. It was spacious home and had all of the basics that are expected. We did have a few insects to deal with, so I would suggest an exterminator soon. A few other minor things included a ticking fan in the back bedroom; the fan in the master was missing the light pull string, so we had to take the bulbs out to run the fan without lights. Also, the back tub was constantly dripping water and bigger nightstands in the 2 back bedrooms would be nice. We would appreciate a mirror in the back bedroom, more hangers in the closets and tissue would be a plus, but these are small things. We were notified that the trash concierge would come, but they didn’t show on Thursday, so we took the trash out to the road on Friday morning. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

In McKinney for a wedding
We were in town for my nieces wedding. Two other family members rented houses in the neighborhood too. It was easy to zip over by car and a short walk to their place a few blocks away. The area is charming and downtown McKinney close by where we had brunch on Saturday. Lots of Cute shops. Easy access to the highway. The house is remodeled and a has a cozy laid back feel to it. Super hot weekend with highs over 100 so we were extra happy that the air conditioning in this home was in tip top condition. We had a great stay.

Great location/beautiful home
We used Emerald-Cliff House as our home base for our annual girls weekend. Location to the historic downtown home to find restaurants, bars, and shopping was only a short walk away. House had all the amenities we needed for the long weekend: cozy beds, well appointed kitchen, and plenty of seating to be able to hang at the house to catch up on everything. Neighborhood was quiet, and we enjoyed the front porch swing to wind down the day.

Description Misrepresents Location
The property description leads someone not familiar with the area to believe it is in the heart of Downtown McKinney and that you can take a short walk to Downtown. This is NOT the case. Private back yard is tiny, no seating and over grown with weeds. Interior was clean, no problem there. But check in required an additional step that I have not experienced with other VRBOs- you have to read an addition email with a set of rules to get the passcode for the door, but it is not provided when you first make the reservation, so it generated some confusion and delayed our check in, until I could learn the expectation and satisfy it. Also, at this price, I would not expect to have to strip the sheets. We would not stay here again.

While our property is situated in close proximity to Downtown McKinney, we understand that different interpretations can occur. Many of our previous guests have gladly commented that our property is close to downtown. Regarding the private backyard, we apologize for the state you found it in, our landscaping services are currently experiencing a higher than usual workload. We understand that a well-maintained outdoor space is important, and we are taking immediate steps to address the issues you have mentioned. Your feedback regarding the lack of seating will help us improve the backyard experience for future guests. We appreciate your feedback on the check-in process. We do provide a separate email with a set of rules and the passcode for the door as an additional security measure to protect the privacy and safety of our guests. This has been a great practice, and we have not received any issues in the past. Regarding the sheet stripping request, we apologize if it seemed burdensome. While it is a common practice in some vacation rentals to request guests to strip the sheets, we understand that it may not be the standard expectation for every traveler. We will take your comment into consideration when evaluating our policies and guest requirements. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and regret that your experience fell short of what you were hoping for. We take guest satisfaction seriously, and we will use your comments to make necessary improvements.

Great Girl’s weekend
We enjoyed this darling house and it was perfect for our party of 4 for the a girl’s weekend. The bedrooms are spacious and the interior of the house was amazing. The only issue we had was that the backyard, fire pit area, and flower beds were overgrown with tall weeds. Definitely not like these areas were shown in the listing. Other than this detail the property was fabulous

Great house to stay at for our trip to the DFW area. Wished we had more time to stroll around the historic downtown McKinney. Lots of nice shops and places to eat that are not chains! Great communication with the owners. No problems at all!

Easy access to a great small town
We came for the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center (if you haven't heard of it, add it to your list!). We were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the town of McKinney is and this house is the perfect gateway to enjoy the town. I walked to town one afternoon and had a pleasant stroll. We did spend several hours relaxing on the front porch swing and reading. The kitchen worked great for us to whip up a little cobbler for dessert. Nice house in a wonderful town.

So fun!
This was a staycation for us. I live in the town next door - but my mom was visiting from out of town and we wanted an easy get-away. We also stayed with my friend and her mom. This was a well decorated home, very clean and had everything we needed. My mom was ready to move in:) One thing to note - the driveway is rocky and a little steep and there are stairs to get into the house. This may be a factor for some people. We did not use the outside, the yard needs a little TLC to make it a space to hang out in during a nice day.

Family Visit
Our grandfather has recently downsized, so when our family of 7 from Houston want to visit, we can’t stay with him. We are so glad we found this house! It was perfect! Awesome Vintage Cottage Updated Farmhouse Near Everything
Brittany was great; super responsiveness and helpful. The house is a great little vintage cottage, beautifully updated, functional and charming near downtown. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Beds clean and comfy, nice size shower, good storage for travelers, all the amenities needed. Neighborhood is residential and a quick drive or uber to the downtown shops and restaurants. Two recommendations: privacy shades needed in front rooms at night. The house is on a bit of a hill but because the lace curtains are see-through, it was a bit uncomfortable not being able to close blinds at night. McKinney is a safe little place but still, privacy at night would be nice. Also, there aren't lamps in the living room and sitting with overhead lights on is not ideal, so I suggest adding a lamp or two. Otherwise, we had a great time, made popcorn, heated up restaurant leftovers, loved the kitchen amenities and extras, appreciated the coziness and the host's quick responsiveness to questions. The front porch swing is a nice touch. We enjoyed this cottage and our stay!!

The listing for this made this house seem adorable. Don’t get me wrong- it was! Very old house newly renovated with great appliances (and keurig!). The beds were comfortable and seemed to have clean bedding on them. When I first pulled into the gravel driveway i immediately noticed a cord hanging in the tree almost to the ground from the power lines. I do not imagine it was live, but still. There’s not much privacy in the living room. They definitely need actual curtains. The tv was large and had Netflix so that was nice to watch at night. When going to bed after TV, I noticed that the master bedroom did not fully shut and it would not lock. This made me uneasy as I am used to sleeping with my door locked, especially since my spouse had not arrived yet. Overall, cute old home close to downtown square of McKinney.

A gem in Old Town McKinney.
Well thought out conveniences (e.g., plugs for charging any device). Completely silent at night. Close to restaurants, etc. Easily walked to The Yard for dinner. A comfortable stay as a "home away from home."

Wedding guests
Property was exactly what we needed. Great proximity to downtown restaurants and perfect set up for our kids. Not many breakables that we had to watch out for and a few little toys to keep them occupied. They also loved the Christmas cookie decorating kit set out. Thanks!

Little gem near downtown McKinney!
The property was clean and nicely renovated. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well outfitted and sy to use. The master bath was a tight fit with the toilet situated inches from the vanity but was very nice overall. The hosts were kind and communicative and we appreciated having the washer/dryer. I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting McKinney!

Girlfriends Get-A-Way
Nice location to downtown McKinney and felt safe in the neighborhood but windows in main living and kitchen lack privacy blinds or curtains. Great area to visit with girlfriends!
