The property was beautiful, the lodge had everything we needed! The owners / property manager were attentive to our needs while giving us privacy.
We had a perfect, cozy 5th anniversary trip. Our two dogs loved it too…:)
Better than the pictures. Awesome dock for boating, swimming, etc. Home was extremely well stocked with lots of extras. Beautiful property and very helpful and friendly hosts. Stop looking and book this property!
The house was just like it looks in the photos. It’s a beautiful and cozy lakeside cabin. The house was well stocked with everything - the kitchen had ample plates/silverware/pots/etc as well as some cooking supplies like oil, vinegar & spices. There were plenty of towels and extra blankets, too. The views from the back deck were just amazing; we ate dinner out there twice and it was so nice. And the dock was so much fun; there are plenty of toys to keep anyone occupied for several hours. Most impressive was the fact that the homeowners were very easy to connect with and quickly responded to questions or needs. We had an amazing time at Smoke Rise.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this home on a 4 day visit to the area. Being that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is SO busy this time of year, the lodge was a great getaway from all of the craziness of the theme parks and heavy traffic. We were approx 35 min drive to the main tourist areas.. but 15 min from all major fast food options, shopping, etc.. The home is very accomodating for a family visit. All of the bedrooms are split from one another for maximum privacy.. the views are amazing. There is a long massive sloping backyard and a nice down hill walk to lake access to the rear of this property. Kayaks were provided by the owner and it was really fun to get out on the lake. The owners were always quick to respond and very cordial through the entire visit. It truly was a great experience - we'd stay there again for sure and recommend to friends and family.
This vacation rental property is an 11 out of 10. The house is pure magic and offers so much to do. We traveled from NJ with our three college age children, a couple of their friends mixed in here and there and our dog. Everyone had an absolute blast. The rental is clean and just gorgeous and the level of detail in the design and decor is unreal. We used the hot tub, the poker table, the fire pit, the wrap around porch overlooking the lake and mountains, the dock and all of the toys available. We also rented the owner’s boat and jet ski a few times and went tubing and exploring out on the lake. There aren’t words to explain all that’s available just at the house and lake alone. Half the time no one was renting The Barn (other rental property available on property) and half the time a large family was in it and, honestly, sharing the dock with them was really fun and made it more lively and party-like. This beautiful home is close to so much. We visited Dollywood, hiked in the Smokey Mountains, went to the Tennessee Distillery. The owner and property manager were reachable for any questions I had (all minor questions, zero problems) and everyone was super helpful. The owner sends so many great tips before you go. I wish we could have done everything. One of our family’s top vacations ever. Fabulous bonding time in the most incredible setting. I have zero storage left on my phone from the photos and videos I took of this awesome adventure. Book this rental - you’ll love it!
A wonderful cabin with all the luxuries you could need, in an amazing location. Boat rental and jet skis nearby and great dock for fun in the lake. Hope to be back next year!
This property was beautiful! Great views of the Smokey Mountains with wonderful access to Douglas Lake. The property owners provided a variety of water “toys” to make a day on the lake a real blast! The house was well maintained and was comfortable for our group of 8 adults. They responded quickly to questions and made us feel very welcome. A great property that feels like home.
Though the weather was quite cool and not optimal for boating we had a wonderful weekend at Smoke Rise Lodge. It is truly a four season property that can be enjoyed rain or shine. The location on a quiet cove was perfect for our swimming fur kids, kayaking young adults, and fishing seniors. The owners are wonderful hosts and have made available everything you’ll need for your getaway. We’ll return!
Spacious cabin, clean and well-stocked. Lots of room for 5 adults and 3 kids to eat and play. The kitchen was well laid out, and stocked with many extra items. The beds were very comfortable with extra bedding if needed. Plenty of windows, lots of light and beautiful views. Property owners are delightful. Highly recommend this cabin!
We had amazing trip to the lodge!! The house is spacious, beautifully and artfully constructed and works well for sleeping a large group with separate bathrooms. (We had 8 —5 adults and 3 kids — and we were all comfortable).
The views from the deck along with the hammock, rocking chairs, hot tub and peleton all overlooking the gorgeous scenery make the days tranquil and restorative.
The lake access is great. There are lots of water “toys” to play with/on. Kids and adults really enjoyed! The color of the lake is gorgeous and the temp was so warm. Renting the boat was also a big hit!
The location is a little bit of a drive from the grocery store (20 mins) so planning ahead is a good idea as daily trips are a bit inconvenient. But its location is also great for quiet and access to Smokey Mountains national park, gatlinburg/pigeon forge and Knoxville, and even Cumberland Gap National Park (we visited them all).
The property is also dog friendly and our puppy loved it. The wrap around / enclosed deck was a great way for her to be outside chasing bugs and getting fresh air without running free in the yard.
The owners are responsive and care to make your stay a great one. We highly recommend the Lodge!

Amazing cabin for a family vacation. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The kitchen was fully stocked with supplies. The beds were very comfortable. There were little touches everywhere that made us feel very welcome. The dock was so much fun for everyone from age 4 to adults too. Everyone in our group enjoyed our vacation so much and we hope to come back in the future!

This review probably won't do the property justice. We had a great stay at the Smoke Rise Lodge. The house is beautiful and the location is great. It is secluded, has a great view of the mountains and has lake access. Exactly how the pictures portray it.
We were able to take advantage of the lake, utilize the kayaks and paddle board to explore the lake, lay out on the floating mat and the house is near boat rentals and we had a great time renting a pontoon boat. Also utilized the fire pit which and watched the pink and purple sky of sunset.
We also were able to take advantage of being near the Smokey Mountains for full days of hiking. We were super happy to be away from the crowds of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Smoke Rise Lodge is perfect for the family getaway and groups of friends.
Our family of 5, kids age 8, 6, and 3 had a great time. My parents also joined us. The lake was nice and quiet and they had plenty of toys to use. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Loved I could workout on the peloton as there aren’t too many places to run as it’s in the mountains, but still got our workouts in. We had a great time.
