"Convenient to everything which was helpful to me w/o a car and a bad knee. Neptune Park, right across the street, was fun to stroll through, watch the sun set or just people watch. Great twisted oaks with hanging moss to admire, climb, or relax under. Welcome Center, a couple blocks up the street, is more like a souvenier shop with maps, local artwork, beachwear, pool/beach reads. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Lots of great restaurants. The breakfast at SSI was simple self-serve. Bagels, English Muffins, cereal choice. The coffee was great and available 24 hrs. Tea too. A nice touch was the iced lemon water in the self-pour canister--very refreshing. Stayed off lobby on 1st floor...can get noisy but not terrible. Had view of lighthouse. Each room is decorated uniquely which is a nice touch. Plenty of drawer/closet space. Expected a small beach across street, but only visible at low tide. Not condusive to suntanning and swimming but enjoyed walking it every night after dinner. Lots of sun and shaded places to sit in the park. Had a wonderful visit. Will go back again but stay on 2nd floor. Sienna(Midcoast Maine)"

"This property is under active renovation/construction. This is a detail. They don’t tell you when you book it. It’s basically filthy and many things simply don’t work, including the television, the hot water and a few other minor items. I would avoid this property until they finish whatever work they’re doing there. Hopefully it’s better after that."

"The room was clean! Most of the staff were horrible!! We were given the wrong time for breakfast at check-in. The next morning, we went to breakfast and the lady was shutting down early. I asked her about it and she was very nasty and rude! She said she was also the night auditor and she would have never told me that! I told her she didn’t tell me that! She went to the back and started laughing as loud as she could and then called someone. The next morning, I waited for the GM to come out and see me! She knew I was waiting and made me wait for over two hours in the lobby to see her while she conducted interviews! My complaints as a guest didn’t matter to her! I told her the pictures on the site didn’t not match what was actually there! No gas grills, no Keurigs in the rooms, no auto coffee machine in the lobby and no sofa in our room! She claims she called her boss and could only give us half off for another night’s stay! She was supposed to also credit our account 1,500 points and we only got 5,000. The younger girl at the desk was also very nasty speaking when I kept asking where the MGR was! The lady that checked us in was nice and the breakfast lady Monday and Tuesday was very nice! The MGR, the other breakfast lady and the other young desk lady were some of the rudest people I have EVER encountered! “She’s not going to tell you anymore then I’ve already told you!” “She said to checkout and wait for her in the lobby until she can get to you!” We are DONE with this brand!"
