"Absolutely smashing stay at this central hotel. Located in a upmarket area, everything feels safe. Reception staff very helpful and everyone very friendly from housekeeping to waiting staff. Lovely big room with very nice amenities. Great breakfast. Well kept grounds. Tip top stay."

"For its location close to people I was meeting, hotel Himalaya is my choice always. This time I noticed they have done some renovation to the lobby and úpgrade if lift, that is good, but after check in I do noticed that the room is tied, bathroom also need upgrade - shower head is old and not one would expect on a premium hotel. Electrical had been around for a long time and a more complete upgrade of room is truly needed. Hence my rating of only good this time."

"An exceptional heritage property that just oozes charm and uniqueness. Everything about the Baber Mahal was wonderful, the location, the room, and the unique setting with a courtyard full of individual shops and restaurants aside of the hotel’s main dining. The spa offers great (not too inflated) treatments and the pool a lovely addition for a quick cool off. A wonderful sanctuary in the middle of Kathmandu and we will certainly return."

"This place is super special. A little oasis with great walkability to the sites in Thamel. The grounds and building are absolutely stunning. We loved the free rooftop yoga every morning and the free heritage walk around Thamel. Every detail of the building is absolutely beautiful--truly like staying in a sacred temple. If you are looking for a unique and authentic Nepali experience in the heart of Thamel, this is the place."
