We had an amazing time! The location was perfect as were the accommodations. I had some questions about the weather system coming in and she went above and beyond to assist me. We would rent from them again!
This was an incredible place to stay! Listening to the waves all night was wonderful! The house was very comfortable and well appointed. We really enjoyed exploring Dauphin Island.
This vacation was unforgettable and amazing!!! You can’t get any closer to the ocean than being in it! We look forward to returning to Rainbow’s End and making more memories! Let the good times roll!
We enjoyed our stay. We arrived about 2:45 and we were able to check in a little early. We loved the convenience of being able to fish off the deck. Everything was as described except neither of the grills worked. We had planned on grilling hamburgers. The back door handle would not release the latch plunger so we could not open the back door. This happened Easter Sunday and we were leaving Monday. We hated to call maintenance on Easter Sunday. I did let them know when we checked out. We would stay here again!
We had a great stay, although we did not actually stay at Rainbow's End, we were in the other unit (more on that later). The home is laid out well. I was traveling with my two adult sons and two dogs and there was plenty of space for all. We had room for privacy and room to gather. Good, sturdy deck furniture - we spent alot of time reading on the deck. One day, we saw a pod of dolphins. We never felt any sway to the building, but often could hear the waves inside. It made for good, deep sleep. The furniture and beds were all comfortable. Water was good. Water pressure and temp of showers was great. The stocking of the kitchen was a bit off - two air fryers, three coffee pots, but no muffin tins or liquid measuring cups, but all in all adequate for the week. The linens, bathrooms, kitchen were all cleaned well, but the place is due for a deep cleaning. The lamp shade by my bed had cobwebs and dust. Some fake plants were dusty. We had some customer service problems, but the property management folks tried hard to make it right. Our first night in, we had car trouble and did not arrive until 11 p.m. We entered Rainbow's End and there was a family already in there, who yelled at us and called the police. I immediately called customer service, who gave us the code to get the key to the other unit; they also called the family in Rainbow's End and the police to let them know what was going on. Otherwise, they were very responsive and helpful through our stay.
This is the second time my family and I have stayed. House works great for multiple people. Loved hearing the waves crash under the house at night. On the surface everything looked very nice but after just a few minutes it was clear the housekeeper doesn’t take time to clean the small things. Food splatters on the cabinets, dirt around the door knobs, refrigerator smelled like rotten crawfish and still had food crumbs inside. Not what I want to see when I’m being charged hundreds and hundreds of dollars in extra fees.
Dauphin Island is a perfect beach area if you want to slow down and enjoy the beach and outdoors. This super family friendly town is far from shopping and any decent restaurants.Specific to this beach rental, this is a highly unique oceanfront home to rent. Walking through the sand and sometimes the ocean tide to get to the front steps, you can feel the house sway as you lay in bed or even sit on the toilet! Property managers responded immediately to issues found with the home that were caused by storms. Response time by property managers was well over a 5 star rating! The house was filled with plenty of towels, extra bedding, and cute beach decor! The only negative I had was with housekeeping. I would only give a 3 out of 5. The pendant lights had inches of dust, the stove had pan liners that desperately need replaced. Roaches came out at night. (Maybe that is normal for this area?) What appeared to be a urine filled Gatorade bottle was found in a top bunkbed. We definitely left the house cleaner than when we arrived.Ultimately, would we recommend this property? Absolutely yes! It is a rare experience to sleep in a house literally in the ocean! We had storms upon arrival and the next day that washed up huge shells and really rocked the house! Property managers were on top of any issues and immediately responsive. The home was comfortable to spend time inside during bad weather. A huge perk was how dog friendly this rental was as well as the beach. Thank you Rainbows
This beautiful home is right over the water. I'd never been to AL and now nothing will compare to staying here. The home is clean, comfortable, and pet friendly. There were only two of us but each having our own bathrooms was nice and both bathrooms have bidets. We used to the two large bedrooms facing the ocean and loved hearing the waves all night. The beds are firm so keep that in mind if you prefer a softer sleep. The large deck is directly over the ocean. It's nice that there's a child gate between the other half of the property so that my dog could enjoy being loose with us on the deck and still be contained. There is a grill but we didn't use it. The ice maker is very small or slow so you'll want to stop and get a bag of ice. When we stayed, someone had stored fished that leaked all over the fridge and under the drawers. It was nauseating. We cleaned that as best we could, including scraping off thick goo. They did bring us some charcoal bags to help absorb the smell. Other than that, everything was great. We appreciated touches like throw blankets, chaise loungers, a couple of wine glasses available, and the hose at the top of the steps to rinse off our feet and dog paws. We loved walking the beach, watching birds and waves from the deck, enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets, hearing the crashing waves at night and watching for dolphins in the evenings. We felt fortunate to have found such a wonderful place that the owners are sharing. We hope to return.
They responded immediately when I had a question.Text to see if everything was okay and if I needed anything. The house was amazing the best beach stay ever .
We really loved the property and had a wonderful time. The weather on the first night was adventurous. We will definitely come back again. Very easy checkin and checkout.
Broken back door, mouldy shower curtains, drain stoppers and bathroom closet ceiling, no batteries in remote. Broken refrigerator drawers. Couch is also broken. Trash left between houses, and grills had leftover food in them.
We had a blast. Internet was out first 3 days but they were very helpful and got it up and running. We looked into booking this for the same dates next year and the price went up alot. We would stay here again!
The house overtop of the water was an amazing experience. We loved the sound of the waves and watching all the sea life right from the deck. We only had to walk down the steps to be right at the beach where we spent most of our days. The house was decorated very cute and had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was very well stocked. We did have a bit of trouble with the AC not working well on one side of the house but the other was working great. The property manager was great about communicating with us on all our concerns. Do know if you stay here you are directly on the beach. You will have to carry all your belongings over the sand to the house. Also going to dinner and out for things you’ll have a lot of sandy feet. We thought it was a great experience but we did bring a lot of beach home :)
Loved the property! Probably the cleanest VRBO we've ever stayed in. Check in code and information are through the property manager's website and not through VRBO, so not as smooth and seamless as through the VRBO app. We got the security/check in code late (as we saw in a previous review). But we LOVED the property and Dauphin Island! We would stay again!
The property was as advertised, the toilet seat in one bathroom kept coming apart. The shower handle in the other bathroom was real loose. All appliances worked. Somes stains on the furniture. The refrigerator air filter needs to be changed due to the horrible fish smell..
