Front desk staff were very nice and extra helpful. The property overall, and my room, were in need of renovation. Wear to carpet, walls, and furniture was obvious. However my one-night stay was acceptable and affordable and safe.

Was not aware that breakfast was offered and when I checked out, I didn't see or smell any breakfast. As for the room kitchen, we didn't cook, just used the fridge and microwave. They were both clean and worked fine.

My rrom was clean and comfortable. I was able to get everything additional I needed, plates, silverware, etc. The hotel was clean and had a great atmosphere to it, again, very comfortable and inviting. The best part of my stay, though, was Ms Faye, at the front desk. Shes an absolute "Jill of all Trades". I saw her at the front desk. around the clock on all 3 shifts, as well as doing housekeeping and making sure all the rooms were kn order. I saw her knocking on guests doors to see if they needed anything and not just on one day, almost every time I stayed. This is the only hitel I stay at and I stay 4-5 days a week. Its great!

Check in staff was unfriendly and seemed annoyed. Trash at entrance, smelly hallways. Extremely awkward access to room...up a flight, down the hall, down a flight to the room. No elevator, my family member with more luggage struggled. Disnt feel very safe. Would have left if we needsd more than 1 night.

ESA: Dayton-south : 1st choice of hotels

We are really happy with this hotel. We are currently homeless and have stayed at quite a few hotels. We werent happy with most of them, either because of the cost or there were less than friendly people just hanging around outside the room and around the hotel, a few had cockroaches and weren't very clean and some had employees that were not friendly at all. ESA: Dayton - South was clean, quiet and relaxing, had all the amenities we need and the employees were welcoming, nice and more than helpful. This is our first choice of where to stay now.

Nobody's perfect - but good stay

Aside from 1 German Cockroach I came across on Sat AM, I was happy with my stay. It is obvious that this ESA works hard to keep everything clean.

The hotel and staff were really nice only bad thing was someone not cleaning up after their pet and leaving the nastiest smell across the whole floor.

The location is excellent and price was good. I’ve stayed here before and my room before (Rm 216) was very good. At check-in there was a smell of Marijuana in the lobby. My room this time (Rm 320) was “worn” with visible damage to the kitchen cabinets and counter. There were nail polish stains in the bathroom tub and sink. The window curtains were of mismatched length, but still functional. The television screen was visibly dim making it hard to see detail in the daylight or with the lights on. The room was passable, but there were areas where food or dirt was missed by the cleaning staff. The room has a feel of being neglected.

The staff is warm, welcoming and friendly. Property is conveniently located, safe, quiet. Room were disappointing. Kitchen cabinets, appliances, etc. are outdated needs to be updated.

Could Not Stay

The room had not been cleaned. The pull out sofa was missing a mattress. We needed 2 beds. There were no towels or wash cloths in the room. We did not stay due to the lack of a mattress. I will say, the employee working the front desk was amazing. She was beyond apologetic and ashamed of the condition of the room. The manager did provide us a refund. The staff was the redeeming quality of the location.

Weekend in Dayton

Definitely an older hotel, outside 'security' doors did not close tight to lock, and if pulled shut - room key did not work well in opening them. Entered room, while I want to believe the bedding had 'clean' stains - it was dirty/stained none the less. In bathroom, there was a dirty towel left hanging on the back of the door. I did address issues with the gal at the front desk - and she did come & change the bedding right away. Employee was very friendly & accomodating, apologizing for the housekeeping staff. As I walked around the room barefoot, I also quickly realized the floor was also dirty. I did not say anything about that, just put socks or shoes on. Breakfast only consisted of a few pre-packaged items, not a 'real' breakfast. 😉 A more difficult issue to address - walls are not very well insulated. The room above us - decided to rearrange their whole room the first night. Very noisy as it felt like they stomped around the room and dragged furniture around. Thankfully - that noise did end around 11. Then - room across the hall from us, had a dog with them. That dog was obnoxious - barking anytime a door it heard something. Both nights, it woke us in the middle of the night. We chose this hotel due to the low cost, as our regular choice locations were expensive - guessing due to graduations or area events. Location was close to where we needed to be, price was more reasonable than the competitors. However - I definitlely would not rush to stay there again.

The inside of the property is old, outdated and in really bad condition. The staff and neighborhood are nice though. Really needs to be cleaned and remodeled. Carpets are filthy throughout the hotel.

Nice to always rely on extended stay. Heads up. No elevator. My only complaint, the floor was sticky... Like the dirty sticky... and there was trash underneath the bed.
