This historic property has been magnificently restored and is wonderful, and incredibly scenic/enjoyable/unique. it is worth at least 2-3 day stays.

The Oasis is set up against a mountain and surrounded by palm trees. It is amazing to see something so beautiful set in the barren desert. The staff, from the bell captain (Joey) to the waiters (Gary) to the front desk (Marsha and coworkers) were top notch. Our only complaint was the star gazing terrace. Any time another guests opened the door to join the veiwing the light obstructed the view. Also, others can be loud and disrespectful. Please figure out a way to fix this. No partying on the terrace!

This property was remodeled the last time we visited Death Valley, 5 years ago I think. They made a big deal of it. Unfortunately, you can not tell. It is very much run down. The hotel is priced as a luxury resort. but service and food are not even close to it. I blame the management company, they are terrible. It would be great if NP wakes up one day and fires them. 2 things go for this property: location and the sad fact that the Ranch is even worse if cheaper.

Would have liked more dining options and better parking- wish all parking areas were paved. Housekeeping was not as attentive as I would have liked and closet was dusty. Grounds and pool were really lovely. Barring the above , I would definitely return

Unfortunately, this inn reflects the fact that, without any other customer choices, a place can charge whatever it wants, and deliver whatever it wants as well. The "curmudgeon report" here doesn't talk about the generally very pretty oasis feel (although a jacuzzi-type spa would be a welcome addition). The casita at around $750/night was large and comfortable, but needed some items to be taken care of to make it just right (ie drapes falling off track at edge, floors not vacuumed properly after cleaning). The restaurant waitstaff were very nice, but the dinner was practically inedible -- rubbery fish still cold in the middle, lumpy polenta and wilted veggies that were delivered within a few minutes of ordering-- obviously made some time before and heated in the microwave. Bill was just over $200. The lounge closed at 9:00, which is a bit strange for hosting people on vacation, and nothing else going on around the area during the evening. I asked the front desk for some more water since it was not replenished by the housekeeping. I was told that water bottles can be refilled from an outside spigot, but they would bring more water anyway. About 10:00 PM, still no water, so I called the front desk and was told that they will get around to doing it when they are done doing other things. For a price of around $750/night the room and service should be top notch. For dining at roughly double the usual prices, the food should at least be fresh and tasty.

The cost to stay here is high ($450/night for our stay). I wouldn't normally pay that, but there was no other hotel in the area with an opening. For that price, you'd think you would get more. There was no complimentary breakfast option that most cheaper hotels would offer. Their toilet paper was cheap and coarse. The food at the restaurant is all VERY expensive. The room was clean, and functional, though the air system is loud and constant. Not what I would expect for the money, but it is a very old building, so I guess it deserves to be cut some slack. Most of the service was hospitable, but nothing above average.

Really enjoyed staying here. The pool area and the fireplace are great. The only low point was the food at the hotel restaurant. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so maybe I shouldn’t be so critical of the food.

Beautiful property in extraordinary setting. Only problems related to dining. Once our dining reservation in one restaurant was canceled, making for too many diners at the other restaurant and waiting over an hour for food. The quality of the food did not justify the cost in our opinion. Getting bar food at the bar was also slow.

The Ranch at Death Valley had all the amenities (including food, water, supplies). The Inn had nothing. Plenty of golf carts but we could not use them to travel the one mile to the The Ranch.

Beautiful stay in the desert.
The dining room was very good, however they did not have lunch, only breakfast. Lunch across the the street at the ranch is good to go to. There is a pool and sauna , however we did not try this, next time

The property is in need of some repair. Concrete is cracking in the tunnel, lights not working or knocked over on the grounds and an open area in the side walk heading toward the golf course. When I arrived there’s no sign saying where to check in. For example check in this way through tunnel. After wandering through there I come to a broken elevator. There was a sign saying elevator broken but not check in on 3ed floor. So after walking up to the first floor and finding no reception, I repeated the process on the entire second floor. Finally a random employee appeared and told me reception on the third floor (naturally). Bed was incredibly comfortable, tv worked great and coffee maker for tea, shower good size and linens fine. Both mornings employees woke me up talking very loudly and laughing at 5am outside my exterior window in an employee area. A suggestion might be to keep it quiet to a more normal hour. Also the room doors slam very loudly and I think improving that would improve everyone’s stay since so many people are up and about before sunrise. Otherwise great location & pool is amazing

Everything was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The golf cart that came with the casita made it super convenient to get around, we loved it. Very convenient location, central to most Death Valley points of attractions. Would definitely recommend!

The Inn at Death Valley was a nice historic hotel. Remodeled with a nice pool and tennis courts. We stayed in a casita which was large, comfortable and had everything you need. It came with a golf cart to drive around the property. The best thing was the staff, always pleasant and helpful. The only thing to improve was the food, which could be a little better for the cost.
