"This was such an unexpectedly cute little place. The staff were wonderfully helpful, the rooms were very clean and tidy, and it is in a great location. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and just behind the lodge, you can walk right out to Tonto Creek. It had rained the day we were there, so the creek was flowing quite well. It's an older place with a very trusting and a simple way of doing things. It is a little off the beating path in a super quiet, peaceful area. Quite a nice change from the big hotels with tons of people coming and going!"
"The bunkhouse is well equipped with everything you might need for your stay. The property and surrounding areas are very nice. We enjoyed our visit there. Issues noticed - the master bedroom bed was hard and noisy, making it hard to sleep in; bedrooms upstairs have no cooling system and were uncomfortably warm at times; the locks to the front screen door don’t work; lastly, the outside grill needs good cleaning and inspection."
"The cutest, cleanest cabin we've stayed in and just loved the darling decor!! Everything we needed was provided, so comfortable and loved the location!! Loved sitting out on the beautiful deck to take in all the fresh pine air!!"
Log Cabin in the Pines, Treehouse with Swinging Bridge, beautiful stream nearby
8/10 Good
"Host has cabin nicely stocked. Lots of space in the loft for kids to play and sleep. Lots of outdoor hikes very close by with waterfalls and swimming holes. The portable AC units and ceiling fans were perfect to cool the cabin. The kiddos enjoyed seeing Elk and javelina walking thru the property. Host communications were excellent."
East Verde River Cabin: Fishing, Hunting & Family Fun.
10/10 Excellent
"The property was amazing. My kids had the best time. It was a perfect little getaway. Woke up one morning to a heard of cows walking down the street, which was cool to see. Unfortunately during our stay, there were big loud trucks working on the property next to us, excavating the mountain side at 7am, which is not the hosts fault. Other than that, it was great! Kitchen had everything you could need. We utilized the abundance of games they provided for fun family game nights. There was plenty of space for our family of 7. I would definitely recommend to family/ friends, and would totally stay here again! Plus there were plenty of scenic options near by- we visited wagon wheel and also geode hill. Fun core memories were made for our family!"
"We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very cozy. The cabin had all we needed. The grounds outside were very nice. This is not a complaint, because somethings are up to nature and the time of year. The description of the outside of the property mentions a stream, stocked with trout. Also, mentioned picking Black Berries. We were there in late June. The East Verde River on the property was barely a trickle . There was no sign of any trout. A few minnows and some crayfish. I’m sure the Black Berries are wonderful if your stay happens to coincide with them being mature and ready to eat.All the neighborhood trash cans including the ones for the cabin got ransacked one night, leaving trash everywhere.. I assumed bears, one neighbor said possibly javelinas. Again, not a complaint! Just something to be aware of.."
