We absolutely loved our stay at Chinook Winds! The owners went above and beyond by picking us up at the train station and even giving us a tour of the town, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. As owners of a travel agency, we usually stay in large corporate hotels and rarely book cabins or locally owned accommodations. This was a last-minute reservation, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Everything was exceptional—from the incredibly comfortable bed to the soft towels and great coffee. It was, without question, the best lodging we experienced during our Alaska trip. The photos truly don't do this place justice. We can't say enough good things about Chinook Winds and will absolutely be recommending and booking it for our clients in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

The staff is so helpful and accommodating. The cabins are walking distance to town and the cabins are nicely updated and super clean. Parking is super easy and right out front. The kitchen area is really helpful and it is nice to have real coffee mugs instead of paper cups! We already booked again for next summer.
Talkeetna is such a cute little town. 😊

Provided train station pickup and a brief tour of the Town including their riverside park (view of Alaska Range and Denali was spectacular!), Talkeetna museum and historic restaurant areas all a short walk from the hotel. Family owned and operated with newer, clean individual cabins. Great location and great stay. Highly Recommend.

The Owner was amazing. He picked us up from the train station, took us around the town to show us the locations that were open. He was accommodating to our requests and their son played in the snow with our son. This was a 5/5 experience. Would recommend to anyone.
