My stay at this property was amazing! The owner was very good about communicating with me and answering all of the questions that I had in a timely matter. She was very helpful in explaining everything about the property and where everything was. The property itself is so beautiful and was absolutely perfect for my wedding weekend,
We absolutely loved our stay and couldn't have asked for a better location for our wedding.
The space was perfect for week stay with in-laws and bridal party. We would totally book this house again!
We had a great time with our family. The house is big and roomy and everyone had their own space. At night the area is lit up by solar lights and looks beautiful! I would definitely stay here again.
Great history and amazing antiques. Water ok to drink, but did have bad taste, the owners did have bottled water availible. Was clean except for dishes in dishwasher. If we had a smaller wedding would be a fun venue.
What a beautiful property! We had such an amazing time celebrating my mother's 80th birthday! Perfect location so close to town but still feels like you are in a secluded mountain retreat. Darcy was so helpful & wonderful to work with booking the property.
Wonderful place for family gatherings. We used the out building for the rehearsal portion of my son's wedding, of which there are extra fees. All in all everyone was very happy and would rent there again!
My parents and in-laws joined us to watch my son graduate from Mines. The house was perfect for this occasion. The location was a quick drive to Mines and was quiet and relaxing. We loved it so much we booked next year for my sons graduation with his Masters degree.
Great house with lots of room. Good location close to Denver and one hour drive to skiing. Host was quick to respond to our questions. Would rent again.
Darcy was very responsive and helpful in showing us her home and explaining the “how to’s)There was plenty of room for our family to enjoy and allowing some quiet time when it was needed. The property has disc golf which was enjoyed by kids and adults alike and a bonus was visiting with the neighbor’s horses and being visited by elk several times. The home is beautiful with the western decor and the master was spacious. Plenty of beds to sleep our entire crew without needing the pullouts.
We chose this place to host our wedding ceremony and reception as well as to lodge our out of town guests. 1000% recommend! The property was perfect for our ~40 guests and barn was super cozy for the reception! All of our guests love convenient location off of i-70.
What an amazing property!!! We had a golf outing for 7 guys and we couldn’t have had a better experience. The home is spacious and very comfortable. It has a great old western vibe along with a large outdoor space. It was perfect for our needs. I highly recommend this wonderful home and would definitely book it again!!!
Our group had an enjoyable stay. It is a quick drive off of I-70 and easy to find. There is plenty of space for people spread out (when desired), and lunch on the deck (with one's choice of sun or shade) was a highlight. We chose to avail ourselves of some lovely hiking trails a short drive away. The orientation by the owner upon arrival was very helpful, as well.
We had a small intimate wedding at this location and it was perfect! They had all the table and linens there and were very upfront with all the costs. Would recommend to anyone having g a small wedding!
Darcy was amazing start to finish. We were able to preview home after booking to make final plans. We communicated through the process. She was quick to respond! Check in was easy and the house was beautiful, clean, well stocked for all of our needs and more. We had a smaller wedding and Darcys home had everything we needed to have an amazing day! We will definitely book again!
We rented this place for our October wedding and it was beautiful! Darcy was a wonderful host and even went beyond to help our vendors set up when we had a scheduling issue. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. My Husband and I stayed there along with some of our family and our wedding party. We had more than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. This is the perfect place for a mid-sized wedding!
We had a wedding with 80 people here and the venue itself gets 5 stars. Exactly as pictured, with lots of space indoors for family. If you are considering having an event here, ensure that you read the fine print as there is a fee per person for the event as well as for the porta potties.
The tables, chairs, and tents that are included are a definite plus. A very cool property for weddings.
This house was decorated beautifully for Christmas, tree included! The ambience gave us all such a cozy and magical experience. There was plenty to do at the house to keep us entertained on the more snowy days. The windy road down to the house should be used with caution during the snowy/icey months, as not all parts of it has guard rails/barriers. Overall, a beautiful time was spent there, and we would definitely stay again.
We had our wedding here last weekend and it was absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of room for a tent and the gazebo that you can decorate was perfect. This property is amazing for weddings. The inside of the house was cozy, and clean. The poker tables were a hit with the groomsmen! There was plenty of room for everyone. Darcy was very communicative and let us check the property out twice before the big day! Thank you Darcy! We definitely enjoyed our time here!
We were a group of 10 girlfriends who stayed in this wonderful log home. It was chosen because of it's proximity to Red Rocks as we went to a concert. Also, it was like being in the middle of the mountains. Lots of scenery, deer, elk and even buffalo. The home had so many amenities that made for a great stay. Darcy was a very responsive and helpful host. We didn't arrive until late evening and she offered to be available to accept a grocery order and even put them all away. Overall it was a beautiful home/location/setting. We all agreed would stay there again.
We had a small wedding of about 50 people at this VRBO, and it was great! We also rented out the small church across the street for our ceremony, which worked out perfectly. At the house, they recently upgraded the porta-potty bathrooms, which was great! The house is beautiful, and all of the rooms feel secluded, which made it extra cozy for everyone who stayed here! We rented a tent for our reception, which worked out great on the property and the gas heater & fire pits provided a good amount of heat on the porch! We also had a food truck (High Society Pizza) which was the perfect solution for this type of backyard wedding. There's plenty of parking as well. Overall, we had a super special wedding weekend with our family and friends, and would totally recommend this property to others!
First time in the area so we rented a large home to accommodate the kids flying in (with 2 little grands as well) from different parts of the country. The house was a great size for us all. Had fun just sitting on the large porch playing cards all night. Coming equipped with the little things (like shampoo! - large bottles!) is great so you don't feel like you have to bring or buy everything. Great location - we went into Golden, Estes Park, some kids did gliding, skydiving, Coors tasting, golf and more. Was a great and relaxing week and we enjoyed everythign. Darcy provided lots of info as to activities and ideas as well. She even helped us when the neighbors dog visited :) She was very responsive to our text messages. Great experience all round.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Positives:
The house is beautiful and the grounds are beautiful. It’s lovely to sit on the porch in the morning and have coffee. It’s an old house that’s been upgraded but still maintains it’s rustic feel. Lots of neat historical relics. Lots of portable AC units everywhere make up for not being able to open windows. Bathrooms, kitchen, floors, furniture is all very clean.
Neutral:
No ventilation coupled with not being able to open windows in the bathrooms is not great when you have a full house. The water can get REALLY HOT really fast, “burn you” hot. It’s great to not run out of hot water with a full house getting ready for a wedding, but mind young kids.
Negatives:
With an old house that is modernized, it’s very reasonable to have flaws that add to the charm. But a couple things were frustrating or dangerous. Cookware and appliance maintenance - having to tighten handles and legs. Steam irons that shoot rust at your clothes and showerheads that don’t get descaled. The front panel of the oven was so loose, it came off and hit one of our party while cooking. We had to hold it in place until everything was cool enough to get some tools and fix it.
The biggest negative, however, was that if people other than the folks sleeping at the house come over, it is considered and event. We cooked breakfast for friends and family who also flew in for a wedding. We did not think that was an event - not setting out tents or tables or bringing catering, etc. But since the folks coming
