Serendipity - Oregon Beach Vacations

Welcome to Serendipity in Depoe Bay! This one bedroom, one bath cottage is located on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You'll have plenty of room for you, one guest, and your favorite four legged friend, making this rental home perfect for a couple's weekend getaway! Step inside and get settled in for your stay! The large deck with the front door is a great place to soak up some sun during the warm summer months!

The living room and kitchen are all interconnected, making it easy to whip up a quick and easy meal while enjoying your partner's company. Please note that this unit offers an electric cooktop, no oven, along with two toaster ovens. There is also a mini fridge for you to store any small items in, such as water bottles or milk for cereal. You'll have an amazing picturesque view from this area of the ocean any time of day! Relax on the couch and watch a movie, or enjoy a nice warm fire. You'll also have Wi-Fi access while staying at Serendipity, so working while on your stay will be easy. Depoe Bay is well known for its abundance of whales, so we're sure you'll see a few while on your vacation. Make sure to enjoy the hot tub while on your vacation as well! Enjoy a nice soak in the summer months or warm up during the winter! The bedroom is located right off of this main room and contains a queen size bed. The bathroom contains a stand-in shower.

While enjoying your time in Depoe Bay, be sure to check out the surrounding areas as well. Depoe Bay offers whale tours out on the ocean nearly every time of the year. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance to explore right off of Highway 101. You can also travel south to Newport or north to Lincoln City if you're looking for more things to explore and see while touring the Oregon coast. The Newport Aquarium is a must see, as are the many glass blowing shops in Lincoln City.

Beach access is located at Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area, located right off of Highway 101, about 3 miles north. While you may not be able to reach the beach in Depoe Bay, you can still get great views of the Pacific from both the home and Spouting Horn on Highway 101. EV charging cable is stored in the kitchen cabinets. Parking is available for up to two cars at Serendipity.

Perfect Cabin for 2

Wife and I spent a week in this cabin and the views and hot tub made up for the dated decor and small shower. We would stay here again.

We ha stayed here so often neither of us can remember how many times. It is perfect for two quirky senior citizens who like to watch the ocean and have access to good places to eat. We love it rain or shine!

Fabulous Views in this cozy cottage

Fantastic views of the ocean from inside or outside, comfortable bed and chairs, nice heat, great hot tub. Very clean. Central location to take road trips of the coast. Only issue was controls for burners on vintage stove didn't work so great. Will visit again!

Perfect couple's retreat!

Stunning views in a cozy older beach cabin. Easy walking distance to many Depoe Bay locations. We were so appreciative of being able to have our dogs with us. Very private. We would definitely stay here again. Did we mention the views?

Cozy cottage

Cozy little cottage with spectacular views, it was stunning to look out over the ocean and weather was beautiful. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood. Very comfortable.

Amazing view

Very comfortable, exactly as described. Convenient location. I highly recommend it, the wall of windows overlooking the ocean provided amazing views, and the whales put on a show for us three of our four day stay( at no extra chare).

Sweet little cabin

In a word, FANTASTIC!!! This place had a wonderful view of the ocean. Tucked in to the trees on one side and a nice tall fence on the other. Easy to find and a very short walk to town. I highly recommend this place for any couple.

Great Getaway

Celebrated my wife's birthday and enjoyed the property with our dog. Perfect for us, within walking distance to the town. We will be back since it is less than 2 hours from home.

Whale watching heaven!

We had a great time. The location was amazing. We were treated to the best whale watching experience right in front of the house every morning. Will definitely book this place again next year if we can!

Perfect location. Excellent view. House could use some updating. Living room carpet old, worn, dirty looking. Big issue with toilet. Never worked right so hesitant to use but when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Cozy for a couple

A nice little spot with a great view near the entrance to Depoe Harbor. The house was as advertised in the listing. Be aware that there are no fences if bringing a dog.

Quaint & Quiet

Loved the simple pleasure of Serendipity! The location was peaceful and accommodations were just right for us - found nothing lacking. (Maybe some beach towels specifically for the hot tub.) From pre-arrival through the stay, communications with management were easy. Thank you for sharing your bit of joy and tranquility with us!

Great view- will stay again

The view was amazing. We saw so many whales and loved it. The inside of the house is cute and perfect for 1 or 2 people. I do think it could have been cleaned better. The carpet is kinda gross and the blankets on the bed looked unwashed.

Overall it was a peaceful place. Great spot to watch whales. Short walk to Depoe Bay. Comfortable furniture, modern TV. A few minor inconveniences: Refrigerator was half-size, like for dorm room. Shower was teeny-tiny and had a non-functional light. One burner on the stove did not work either. Despite the above it was a pleasant place to spend on the coast!

Perfect getaway

Review: A Charming Oceanfront Retreat!This adorable little rental exceeded all of our expectations! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the private backyard facing the ocean made for a perfect place to relax. The hot tub was a dream—completely private and offering a luxurious view of the water. It has plenty of outdoor chairs, a fantastic deck with a bench and a picnic table, making it easy to unwind and take in the scenery.Inside, the kitchen was impressively well-stocked with essentials like coffee, spices, olive oil, and white vinegar, and the mini fridge was much bigger than I expected based on the listing. The shower water pressure was perfect, which was a pleasant surprise.One of the best parts of this home was the thoughtful touches. There’s an incredible collection of books to choose from, incredibly comfortable chairs, plus two binoculars for whale watching—such a special addition! It even had a little dog bed and a baby gate, which made it feel extra homey.The location is fantastic—just a short walk to stores and restaurants, making it super convenient.The only downside? The bed. The mattress was just awful—uncomfortable to the point where it really affected our sleep. If that were improved, this place would be absolute perfection.Still, overall, this home is an incredible getaway, and we would love to come back!

Great place but hot tub could use some work

The pictures and listing are very accurate. The cottage is cozy and clean and perfect for a weekend getaway. The hot tub was very chlorinated, I’ve washed my clothes twice and still smell strong hot tub smell. There was a soapy film indicating the water had not been changed in some time. One of the jets did not work, thankfully we only had 2 people but if we would have had 3 with us the hot tub would not have been enjoyable for the 3rd person. There is a pine tree right above the hot tub that sometimes debris falls in and it would be great to have a skimmer to clean it out. The bed is very soft and felt smaller than a queen. Finally there was no dish soap only hand soap which made washing the dishes a little tricky but not impossible. However overall, you will not find a spot with better views right from an outdoor hot tub on the beach.
