"There is ongoing work to improve the hotel. The pool is round the back but didn't use it. Breakfast was good. It was quiet season so think we were the only ones staying so unfair to judge too harshly. There was a wasp nest a few metres from the room but didn't worry us as it is Sri Lanka after all. "We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The accommodation is not in the middle of the city but in a quieter location, that suited us perfectly. The accommodation borders a long, beautiful beach that leads you to the Surf paradise. Lovely outdoor shower in our cabana. Worked well with the fan mosquito net. Good service with everything from food, bikes, washing clothes. Very nice and accommodating staff. We appreciated the accommodation so much that we chose to book another night. Lungy and nice....

"Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. "

"The hotel had been abandoned. We managed to check-in but there have been no staff onsite since. A local has told us that the Indian company that owns the hotel has not paid the local staff wages and they have been forced to leave. The hotel is filthy, there is literally no staff anywhere to be seen. "
