"this place is at the far edge of anywhere in Santa Rosa. I could not find it, mostly because my phone died. I never did receive instructions on how to access the house. I do not download apps. This place never reached out when I did not show. Certainly looks good on the interweb but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone."

"Estuvimos 2 horas fuera de la propiedad esperando que nos abrieran desde las 4 pm hora del chek in y no fue hasta las 18:15 que nos enviaron un correo diciendo que cancelaban la reservación por falta de espacio. Hacía más de dos meses que había hecho esa reservación y cómo es que nos avisan dos horas después del supuesto chek in, dejándonos en un lugar inseguro con una adulta mayor y un niño sin opción de hospedaje en otro sitio. Quisiera demandar formalmente al dueño de la propiedad por estada."

"Loved this house, very close to everything in Central Suchitoto, amazing view of the lake, very tastefully furnished. The pool and garden is beautiful and very private with an amazing variety of birds landing in the garden, from hummingbirds to toucans. The kitchen had everything we needed as well. Excellent communication from the host; there was an initial mixup with our dates and everything was settled quickly and efficiently. All-in-all, this house is a gem and we would definitely book it...

"I never received from the owner the details for checking. I called him without response. VRBO, was not very helpful, they just gave the owners phone number. I couldn't find the property and lost my booking. Now I need a full refund of my money. I think Expedia shoudn't take the money in advance when the address of the property is not provided or doesn't exist. It has been a shocking experience. I hope others won't fall in the same situation."

"I highly recommend Casa 1800. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and happy. The restaurant not only has delicious food but an amazing view. I went on 2 tours that were set up by them and highly recommend those also. The location was convenient and I would definitely stay there again. "

Beautiful hotel on a previous hacienda

"This hotel was very beautiful, a Salvadoran gem! A beautiful view of the lake from the restaurant! We also loved the appetizer we ordered: fried yucca with cheese inside. The restaurant staff was very nice and helpful, the receptionist for the hotel seemed kind of annoyed we were there but it didn’t take away from our stay. I would recommend this lovely place for sure!"

Authentic El Salvador experience

"The staff was extremely friendly and made this a place I would return. The roosters start crowing as early as 3am so do beware. If you are a sound sleeper or have earplugs, you should be just fine. Breakfast was served promptly each day. By the time I left, I truly felt as if I were part of their family."
