"I really enjoyed spending time at this hotel. The staff are very welcoming and wonderful people to be around. The staff made sure that I had a shuttle to go around town and a safe way to get there, had a secure place to store the remaining luggage, and they made delicious food for breakfast and at the restaurant. I would highly recommend to stay at the Stella Maris Lodge."

The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating- even going so far as to check I was well when I slept in after a long hike at Kilimanjaro. "I loved the staff so friendly. Manager helped me with a cheaper route to the waterfall. Location wasn't the best as I need a ride to get anywhere but at least rides are cheap. Just be careful of not getting a agreed price before you go anywhere. As it will start at 2k and jump to 10k for little to no reason....the pool was very clean. And rooms were very nice. Asked for a air-conditioning...same day they INSTALLED it!!! Food was good. Really really loved the staff. Soo kind and some even knew...

"Very nice place to stay while exploring the Kilimanjaro area. Staff is super friendly and the pool is wonderful! Cottages are basic, but clean and food is good! Really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone who want to be close to Kilimanjaro! "

"This is probably the nicest hotel in central Moshi for Europeans on their first trip to the region. You have to remember that this is Africa and things don't always work but on balance this is a good safe place to stay. Once lesson for us was we were pretty much the only Europeans in the town, trekkers and safari people tend to stay outside, so be prepared, this is a busy African town not a tourist place"

"Great place to get ready to hike Kili or go on a safari. Not 5 star but pretty nice - decent food, great service and ready to please. Good wifi and hot water! Lots of people going coming from Kili!"

"When we arrived there they had over booked and did not have a room available for us. Although we booked 1 month in advance. Their general manager was not apologetic. Seemed like they had an event and they gave our rooms to some dignitaries. "
