Opal Hotel Amman
4/10 Poor
"While this hotel is beautiful, has a spa, restaurant on the premises, is 20 minutes from the airport and the desk staff is lovely I cannot recommend it. While I understand the cultural significance of holidays in different countries, being a hotel that caters to many international cliental they could have been considerate of sleep...again...being a hotel...a place to sleep and eat. We visited during Ramadan and so most locals are up all hours of the night however, doing major construction work at 1 am (literally, drilling and hammering) is not acceptable. They did move our room to a "quieter" location however, the construction work could still be heard and the dining room above scraping chairs across the floor from 2-5am was not a great way to care for guests. They are obviously a very conservative Muslim hotel (no alcohol, separate times for men and women to use the pool, etc) and did not show concern for those who may not be of the same faith by planning construction while most people who are not celebrating Ramadan would be sleeping. Dinner wasn't until 10pm and when we were directed to a cafe, where we could order, the food was "eh"...not terrible, just not good. The shower, again looked lovely but the mold around the bottom ledge was gross. That was our 3rd visit to the hotel but will be choosing another in the future. "

Doubletree By Hilton Amman Hotel & Residences
2/10 Terrible
"They literally exploited my situation and forced me to book another room: I booked a suite at this hotel last minute because our 1:00am flight was canceled. We were two adults and 4 little kids (all under 10). When I arrived I was forced to book and pay for another room because they won’t let us stay in one room. They forced us to sleep in two different rooms on separate floors. So they split the family and the room we were given was a smoking room smelled so bad I couldn’t sleep.
When we arrive to the hotel around 2:00am with sleepy and exhausted little kids and lots of luggage. The guy on the front desk saw that and took advantage of us. There was no way I would say no when they said that I couldn’t stay in one room and that I have to book a second one at their highest rate. Pure greed and inhumane treatment. Let alone I couldn’t even sleep in the extra room that I was forced to book because it was on a smoking floor. And the fact that they made us wait for almost an hour in the lobby to give this “great” deal.
Shame on you!

Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Had a lovely 2 day stay at The Sheraton, lovely clean hotel, great breakfast, comfy bed and a fantastic spa and inside pool. There is an outdoor pool but we didn’t use it. Highly recommend it! Despite the above, the jewel in the crown is the staff, from reception, room cleaning, spa and restaurants they are great but a special mention to the young barman in the Sports Bar - he was great!"
