I could hear, and was woken up by the person in the room above me walking whenever they did—and they woke up at 5:15 am every morning. I also had the wheelchair accessible shower in my room, and due to the shower set up, both days there was a lot of water that went outside the shower are I had to clean up after my shower. There has to be a better way. Maybe this doesn’t happen for someone in a wheelchair sitting lower, but that was not my situation.

Although concerned when we arrived because the rooms in our floor were being remodeled, the workers were quiet, clean, and worked during expected “awake” hours. We were disappointed to find that the AC/ heat unit was completely broken (no air flow), the staff quickly moved, and upgraded us for our two nights, no questions asked. The employee working in the breakfast area was cheery to all, helpful, and constantly cleaning the area.

Unfortunately, there was a Large group of 7 on 7 football players in that We're very loud and We're very messy and trash the Hall ways going to the rooms.

In the middle of being re-modeled. Short staffed and slow checkin with process from years past, even pre-payed. $50 dollar charge on CC for “incidentals” at check in when there are no amenities.

Absolutely horrible. Got to the hotel at 530pm. Stood in line for 45 minutes with the one lady working the desk. Only for her to say that they had no room that was available. They stated they were still “cleaning rooms”. Check in was for 3pm. We were told there was nothing they could do and we would have to wait for housekeeping to clean rooms. Absolutely unacceptable. Asked for a manager only to be told they aren’t available. We ended up missing the dinner that we were here for because we couldn’t get ready in our room. Horrible experience. Never ever stay here.

We liked that there was continental breakfast and a pool. The showers werent very hot and the ceiling was stained like there was water damage. Also you cant close the thick curtains all the way. Beds were comfortable.

Incorrect room given
Well I booked a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch for 7 people. Upon arrival I was given a room with a king size bed. Went back to the front desk and was told that you the third party make rooms up and don’t actually work with the hotels hand in hand to find out what kind of rooms they have. I was also told that this was a fire hazard to have 7 people in the room together. I had to get a roll away bed for this stay and squeeze everyone in that one room. You guys offered to get me into a different hotel but the closest one was 5 miles away and I could not be any further away as I was there for a cheer competition and was already far enough away from the competition site. You did credit me $50 but it still was a hassle to have to squeeze us into that room and not be really comfortable sleeping on what was a comfortable bed.

Safety latch on door was broken. The toilet was broken, about came off the floor. The bed had stains and hairs on it and was poorly made. Overall not great conditions, won’t be coming back.

The dining area was limited but food was more than most regular hotels had. The dining area was a bit dirty with food on the floor and seats. The room was okay, sheets were clean and felt newly washed. Bathroom had a small plaster worm under the sink. Pool was cold so my kids didn’t care for it.

It was very very noisy at the hotel. We had to move up a floor, and even then, it was still very noisy. The food was ok, the hard boiled eggs were borderline rotten and stank so bad. Overall, it was an ok stay.

Stayed 3 nights. Had 2 separate rooms. Key cards to get into our room literally would only work 1-2 times. Visiting to see a 2 night concert in Detroit, so we would get back to the hotel late, around 1-2 am. First night, we had to go to the front desk 4 times to get new key cards because they would not unlock our door. And every time after that we had to get new cards. Very frustrating. Both of our rooms had this issue. The counter person advised us to not put the cards by phones or by other cards in a wallet. Still they did not work more than once. Next, they checked us out of our rooms 2 days early and charged my card for both rooms. I did not want to use this particular card for payment, only to hold the rooms. Then charged the card I wanted to use twice for both rooms. Over $900 total. It took lots of back and forth (over 3 weeks) with multiple people to get refunded for this. Very disappointing. Poor communication. Nobody would call back when they said they would. No email when promised. Lastly, the breakfast was disappointing as well. Containers left empty. The woman taking care of this was not friendly at all. Wearing earbuds so you could not ask for her to refill any of the food. Did not smile or greet. Overall seems pretty typical of Detroit area and I’m not surprised. We won’t be staying here again.

The staff were very accommodating. The bathroom in the hotel had some cracked shelves. The beds were a little hard. The outside of the hotel had trash piling over onto the walkway.

We walked in to stains on the carpet, wall next to the bed, the tile, dead bugs amassed in the corners of the room, and even one (a large one) walking across the floor. We were so uncomfortable that we left, communicated that the the front desk-with no attempt to repair-and neither Holiday Inn Express nor Hotels.com would give us a refund. Do not stay here. It’s gross.

The hotel was definitely nice for the price! I did not get to take my child to enjoy the pool, as it was crowded with at least 10 children and no adult supervision. And these children were jumping in and out, and made it unsafe for my child to get in. This was for both days during my stay, so i wasn't able to wait and go another time. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay!

We only stayed one night but we had a long day so when we were ready to tuck in for the night everyone wanted to shower but there was no hot water for anyone. For the most part our stay was pretty good just a few minor inconveniences.
