"This is a happy place, beautifully decorated with local artist Clarissa's work--even on the fourth day of our stay, we were still discovering pieces we hadn't yet noticed, all original and ocean themed, some a little funky, all fun! We were also surprised and thrilled to find the reasonably priced, lightweight (better when you're flying out) hand-crafted souvenirs Clarissa has made available. The house itself is comfortable and cosy. As a librarian, I was impressed with the choice of books to be found. The kitchen has everything you'd ever need, and more! I laughed out loud after having read the comments in the guest book from the guy who couldn't find the toaster! We found it by simply opening a cupboard door, and everything else from a cheese grater to a garlic press to a rolling pin, along with top quality cookware, and lots and lots of dishes and flatware. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows exactly the way we like them (not to fat, so you can use two when reading, and just one when sleeping). It's true, as some have commented, that there is quite a bit of traffic going by the house (which amazed us, as we imagined Carbonear to be a tiny hole-in-the-wall kind of town) but if you sleep in one of the back bedrooms, you won't hear the traffic and, in any case, there are far fewer cars during the night.
