"Sterling Darjeeling is a great place to stay for a trip to the area. The location is much better than anything close to the mall. You can avoid all the traffic and noise of central Darjeeling. Views of the valley and surround mountains are great. The staff is very helpful. If you’re traveling from the airport, you will get to the property much faster (hours) than any place close to the mall because of all the traffic even though it’s only a few kilometers away. "Relatively good location close to down town sites. Clean rooms and hot water. Linens smelled fairly fresh. Screaming child till midnight somewhere downstairs echoed through the hotel. Staff was helpful in general. Buffet breakfast had 3 Indian options. Lots of options for food close by. Ok value for money. "

"The room was damp, and moldy smelling. All the bedding was damp and wet. The pillows were visibly moldy and unclean. It was a struggle to get the staff to provide new and clean and dry bedding. There was no heat source in the room. The hot air blower provided was unusable as had electrical sparks during use. There was a light that flashed all night even though the power was switched off to the light. The manager and front desk staff only wanted us to leave so that they did not have to deal with...
