  • My dad's friend owns a really cool karting circuit in Pageas, a few kilometres from Chalus where I grew up in France. They are both hunters. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of people from that generation in rural France do like hunting, fishing, fetching mushrooms. There are woodlands all around the karting circuit. My dad and his friend have built some platforms in the trees, and from mid-October to mid-November they go there every morning to shoot migrating birds. Those ones are some sort of wood pigeons going from Eastern Europe / Russia to North Africa. I did my own shooting that morning... with my camera! The sunrise was spectacular with some nice pink colours and mist in the valley.

Great house, fantastic garden

We had a very lovely stay! The property is huge and planted with great trees and bushes. It is not accessible to public view. The house itself is very well equipped. The big pool is a great plus! Here and there might some things need renovations or mending (the tiles at the pool for example). But that does not affect the holiday feeling! :-) There are many restaurants in the villages nearby. At least some knowledge of French would be helpful. We recommend Limoges when you want to visit a bigger city. Only around 20 minutes away is 'Espace Hermeline' where you can go swimming, do tree climbing, zip line or just play mini golf! Great for kids and adults! The communication with the owner John was always perfect! He was helpful and very nice with every question we had! Also Mark and Wendy who look after the house and garden are very nice and helpful people! We recommend this house to everyone who is looking for privacy and recreation!

Dit huis had nooit door vrbo verhuurd mogen worden, het was door de eigenaren een jaar uit de verhuur. Wij arriveerden ook voor een dichte deur na twee dagen reizen. Onze vakantie liep behoorlijk in de soep. Gelukkig konden wij zelf snel een alternatief vinden. Maar VRBO heeft hier een behoorlijke fout gemaakt. Na lang aandringen werd het door ons betaalde na anderhalve week retour gestort.

Séjour agréable mais...

Grands espaces verts. La maison est très grande et agréable. Bonne communication avec les propriétaires. Cependant, il est fort dommage que la piscine n'ait pas été entretenue et donc inaccessible surtout pour un week-end de 4 jours.. De plus, la maison n'était pas très propre lors de notre entrée : plat moisi dans le four, gâteau dans un placard, poussières et toiles d'araignées un peu partout. Il serait intéressant de mettre des consignes concernant l'évacuation des poubelles. Malgré cela nous avons passé un bon séjour. Merci à vous.

Schönes Haus, wunderschöner Garten - entspannte Zeit

Wir haben mit 6 Erwachsenen, zwei Kindern und zwei Hunden sehr schöne zwei Wochen verbracht. Gerne kommen wir mal wieder! Leider ist aufgrund eines Temperaturumschwungs das Wasser im Pool gekippt - auf Eigeninitiative haben wir den Pool komplett gesäubert und neu befüllt. Dafür waren die Besitzer sehr kulant! Einige Fliesen im Außenbereich müssten erneuert und gegen Schädlinge präventiv gearbeitet werden. Für uns war es aber eine sehr schöne Zeit, umgeben von hunderten Schlössern und Burgen.

Beautiful Location

An amazing property in a fantastic rural location. Town 10mins drive and a 20mins walk into the village. The pool was a massive hit with everyone and was very much appreciated during the hot spell. A very well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for all to be inside the property. If you want a peace and quiet getaway then this is the place to stay.

La maison est très agréable. Elle est spacieuse et que dire des extérieurs… on a un parc privatif et une vraie piscine. Logement à recommander ++++ Les alentours sont également agréables avec la route de Richard coeur de lion et les châteaux à visiter.

Je n'ai jamais eu accès à la propriété

Je suis en colère. Nous nous sommes rendus à la location avec plusieurs heures de route. Sur place personne. Je n'ai jamais pu accéder à la location alors que j'ai été prélevée. J'ai réussi à avoir 2 personnes dAbritel en ligne au moment de l'arrivée et 2 jours après, m'assurant que je recevrais un mail et serais remboursée. Je n'ai toujours pas de mail et attends le remboursement. Mes enfants et moi avons eu nos seules vacances de possibles gâchées avec aucune réponse du propriétaire et un suivi d'Abritel dont j'attends encore les résultats.

Week-end excellent entres amis, dans une très jolie propriété 👍

Des retrouvailles entres amis d enfance, un moment gravé dans nos mémoires. Cette propriété est parfaite pour du partage. Que ce soit la maison, cuisine, salle à manger, la piscine, le terrain immense ( propice à des parties de football endiablées 😂) , tout était parfait. Le seul hic du week-end était le manque d eau chaude le vendredi soir, arrangé dès le samedi matin par l homme qui s occupe de la piscine, très sympathique même si la compréhension entres nous dû à la langue à été difficile. Merci également à Wendy pour la communication rapide et efficace. Je recommande avec plaisir. À bientôt certainement.

Très belle maison immense jardin habité parfois par des chevreuils un vrai plaisir maison très au calme parfaite les quelques petites choses à rectifier dans l'annonce sont Linge de maison ne comprend pas le linge de toilette ni le linge de cuisine ne pas oublier de les prendre avec vous Télé câble et satellite oui MAIS UNIQUEMENT EN ANGLAIS vraiment dommage quand on est pas bilingue Je n'ai pas trouvé la troisième salle de bain Mais ces quelques détails n ont pas entamé la bonne humeur de nos vacances Maison a recommander vivement
