My Stay

We come to Dover each year for a special event. We stay at First State Inn.This was our third year and we will continue to stay there. Good value for the money. It lacks the bells and whistles such as a pool and gym...we have no time for anyway...it is clean and the air is strong. Both the microwave and fridge worked. It was quiet. Many places to eat and/or shop nearby.

Manager & housekeeping was pleasant. My only complaint is that there was no room on 1st floor available. No elevator. Bed was very comfortable but pillows were flat. Microwave and mini refrigerator worked well.

Bare bones but perfectly adequate

The manager was a little slow, but the room was clean and quiet. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, no coffee machine, but a McDonald's next door

No Frills back in time motel!

I felt sorry for the elderly desk clerk. The room was clean. Impressed by the paint job to brighten the room. Felt like I was in a motel friend m the 50’s or 60’s. I place to lay your head for 1 night.

The property is ok for just passing through or one night. My room must have been a smoking room because it smelled of smoke. I do not smoke, there was some small burn holes on the chairs and pillowcases. Its not the greatest place but it was clean.

The three rooms I looked at were dirty and had a disgusting smell of cigarette smoke. I didn’t feel safe there so I did not stay. I lost my $100 for my stay. My recommendation to Expedia is to remove them from your listing and save someone from a bad experience.
