"My wife and I stayed 4 night in this updated 1700s cottage that was clean and cozy. I’m an early riser so I enjoyed the early mornings by the fire pit and my wife slept in. We visited a lot of the area places ie Strasburg railroad, sight and sound theatre which was amazing! Went to Amish and or Mennonite owned and or run shops and markets and just had a relaxing time when we return to the cottage . The Meck’s did a wonderful job updating yet keeping it from the era. "Very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub both nights we were there. House was very clean and well furnished."

If you're looking for ice cream, check out Fox Meadows creamery, a short walk away or drive a few minutes to Hayloft ice cream. At Hayloft, you can feed ducks and fish in the adjacent pond. Achenbachs bakery, just down the road, has some good long johns."

We easily fit Hershey Park, Lancaster, Antiquing in Adamstown, and Gettysburg all into the three full days we had in Columbia. It was a treat to arrive to a full tray of homemade blueberry scones. "Myself, my wife, and our dog stayed the weekend while I was in town for a seminar and, truthfully, I can't think of a single thing about this property that wasn't wonderful. It's located close to everything in town without being in town itself. It's right off a main road, but the cottage is set back enough so that it is not obtrusive. "This place was amazing! It has such a sense of calm and peace and was perfect for our family get-together. The bedrooms were spacious. We appreciated the snacks and whoopie pies provided. Derrick responded quickly to our questions about some light switches. It was convenient to our sightseeing adventures in the Lancaster area. Beautiful setting with the horse farm next door and the Amish buggies going by. Would definitely stay there again!"

"Beautiful quaint property with many amenities and very close to downtown Lancaster and Tanger outlets while maintaining the authentic Amish charm. The hosts were super friendly. The family dog, Ellie, was super sweet and greeted us every day while playing outside. There is a lot to do that don't require screens, so it provided a nice break from the technology dominated lives we all live these days. Everything was ad advertised. "Our stay at Country Haven was so relaxing and cozy. Our host family was great and very accommodating. The refrigerator was stocked completely for breakfast and homemade cookies in the freezer. "This is a beautiful home with beautiful views in a quiet area of Strasburg. We loved the sun room and porch views. We enjoyed watching the many birds in the area. One thing that might need to be considered before booking is that there are very steep stairs in the home and an unlevel pathway to the front door. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the right home for you."

"This is a beautiful renovation of an old building. Very clean and nicely decorated. I don't think i fully grasped the sleeping arrangements from the listing. From the pics the 2 twins in the office appeared to be 2 twins together as if made up as a king. Its a day bed and a trundle. Which is fine the listing says twins and a queen. If you get up at all during the night I would not recommend this. It requires climbing up and down a ladder, which I am physically able to do easily but in the dark...

We were able to take some amazing pictures for our wedding of our wedding party while getting ready with the beautiful landscape behind us. The pond was a bonus and a great way to end our wedding night. Our friends complimented the home so much and we look forward to booking again in the future."
