I would say the stay in this hotel is OK, although I wasn’t very happy with it. First the location seems to be unknown for the most taxi drivers I hired and it’s something I don’t like. Second, by some strange hotel requirements they were willing to hold my passport. Just a reminder to the management, international passport is everyone identity card in foreign country. No one, besides the police has the right to keep someone’s passport. Third is that besides I left them deposit they are keep bugging me for the passport while I was sleeping, which is not very comfortable. Besides these issues the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Room service and housekeeping was a total mess. I had a drainage issue in my bathroom which was attended to but caused my bathroom to be flooded and housekeeping didn’t show up to clean up till 2days after despite my several calls. Getting hot water felt like a luxury coz the shower was almost cold all the time.

Misery stay at Al Salam grand hotel Sharjah
It was horrible stay at Al Salam grand hotel Sharjah... very poor reception service and dirty rooms, on top of all this misery, they only provide soap, shampoo and towels on the first night of your stay then you need to pay extra for this in all other nights or you get your own towels and shampoo..!? This is the first hotel ever I faced such misery that I had to leave the second day, however they charged me for the whole four night reserved!!!...the rooms are smelly and filthy ... I don’t even recommend it for animals stay ....!!!!!?? Also they requested to hold my passport as security which I refused totally of course ... In summary they are very bad and only money oriented with no customer service at all.... I think they are a shame on the hotel industry and should be kicked out of such business....thanks Mohammad Almomani

Dear Mr. Mohammad , We would like to thank you for the recent stayed of your guest under the name of Mr. Tayseer Zeidan. We are sincerely apologized for the unfortunate issues he had facing during his stayed. First and foremost our Housekeeping Department has Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for daily cleaning services and at the same time they will provide daily room amenities such toiletries items, tea bags, sugar stick ,coffee and so on which is on complimentary basis. Unless if your rooms has been placed as DND or do not disturb, our room attendant definitely will not render a make-up services for your room as per our SOP. In regards to hold your passport upon check-in, as per our internal procedures we are keeping only as a secured deposit however our valued guest are freely to obtain if he is not comfortable to be kept in our reception and we are merely asking for some security amount for any extra services will be consumed during your stay. However upon check-out it will be refundable. Once again we are truly apologized for the misunderstanding , your shared comments is very significant to us in order to rectify the issues at the earliest and we rest assured we had been address to the concerned department. We are looking forward to welcome you in our hotel.

Lovely
The room was very spacious, comfortable and well kept. The reception staff were helpful and friendly, however they seemed to be uncertain about things like room service, when the restaurant was open or closed, taxi and bus services to and from the hotel. Although they were very friendly and tried to be as helpful as they could, there was a general lack of professionalism: there was a lady at the concierge desk talking loudly on her cellphone, the key cards didn't work correctly, the staff were casually dressed (which is not what you expect from a 4 star hotel) and the Lobby bathroom was not serviced. Overall our stay was lovely and the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

Not worth your money or time.
This place is unique in that the room looks nice but the people ruin it for you. There are flies in the lobby literally everywhere. And there was a dirty ash tray that stunk of smoke in my room. But most of all, it’s the staff. I land in the city at 1AM. I check in at 2AM, they force me to leave at 12PM. So I got to stay for 8 hours. Because THEIR system clocked me in wrong. Do. Not. Stay. Here.
