This Beautiful 2,000 s/f log home sits on three sprawling acres along the rushing Wind River in the Historic cowboy town of Dubois, Wyoming( Buffalo Bill and Butch Cassidy visited here). The cabin was built by one of the West's foremost log home builders, and is a work of art in itself. It is tastefully furnished in a western theme and has all modern appliances and amenities, and comfortably sleeps 9. There are amazing views of the river and mountains from every room. The area is also a nature lover’s paradise and is home to many species of wildlife – moose, elk, deer, bear and the largest herd of bighorn sheep in the world. And don’t forget your fishing rod because there is blue-ribbon trout fishing just steps from your door . Not far away are numerous trails to hike ,climb and mountain bike in some of the most beautiful country in the United States, ( the continental divide is 25 miles away),not to mention Grand Teton park, Yellowstone, and Jackson Hole for shopping, white water rafting and skiing. You'll need weeks, not days,to see even half of the beauty of this area, and this Cabin makes the perfect jumping off point. Enjoy!
The home has a large open living area with vaulted ceilings and a cozy soapstone wood stove for cool evenings. There is a large satellite TV in the living area as well as a DVD. Wireless Internet & private phone are also available.
For spillover guests, the living area has Western style bunk beds & another single bed.
The open & spacious eat-in kitchen boasts Italian tile floors & marble countertops with an island.
The tastefully decorated Master Bedroom is located on the lower level. The bedroom has a queen bed as well as a bassinet/crib for young guests. Next to the master bedroom is a bath with a claw foot tub.
The upper level of the home has two large bedrooms with queen beds and both rooms have balconies to take in the stunning views. A bath between the bedrooms also has a brand new, very nice, American Indian, all tile, walk in shower. Guests can enjoy the 8 person hot tub on the wrap-around deck, which looks out over the river, or just enjoy the beauty of the setting while relaxing on the deck’s outdoor furniture.
There are many recreational pursuits in the area for guests including horseback riding, hiking, atving, fly-fishing & hunting. In the winter, guests can enjoy cross-county skiing, snowmobiling, dog-sledding & world-class downhill skiing in nearby Jackson Hole.

Well-appointed and cozy. As advertised, right on the river.
Great place for a couple's getaway if peace and quiet is what you seek. Right on the river with wonderful night sky views and everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.
I having been coming to Dubois for years to treat clients to fishing. This was a perfect place on an outstanding stretch of stream. It was relaxing and peaceful and the perfect proximity to town. Loved it.
Great location for us to explore surrounding area. Loved seeing horses pastured next door with mule deer walking through the property. Fishing in the Wind River was rewarding! Would definitely stay again!
The inside of the house is impressive with high ceilings, wood posts and taxidermy of local wildlife. We liked there were so many areas to hang out for separate smaller groups, yet a big table for gameplaying. Being right next to the river was wonderful as well. Downtown Dubois is adorable..
We book VRBO's about every three or four years in the Dubois area. Fishing, hiking, four-wheeling and rodeo attendance are what is most attractive in this area. Being able to interact with the natural and beautiful environment. The cabin was very nice and convenient for our activities. There was good communication and amenities for our group.
Dubois is perfect for day trips to various sites, and sites close by. The cabin was lovely, with comfortable beds and a newer hot tub on the deck. Kitchen was well stocked with all dishes and amenities for cooking. We appreciated being on the highway as we had motorcycles. The river was amazing to enjoy in the morning from the deck with coffee. Comfy living room, laundry area was convenient, and strong wifi. Eager to return!
Nice place, well maintained and clean. Not sure i would consider the bed under the steps a place to sleep. Definitely not for an adult. Also the bunk beds are not built well enough for adults. I wish vrbo would be better with how many people a place sleeps and be more clear on what the sleeping spots really are. Otherwise there were no issues and we enjoyed our stay!
I stayed at this property due to my Incident Management Team coming to the area to manage the Pack Trail fire. Due to cold weather we were directed to stay at a hotel or rental of some sort. Multiple people from my agency mobilized to this incident and we found financial value in this property due to it being able to house multiple individuals. This property was spectacular and the host was very inviting and helpful during our stay. I wish I was able to spend more recreational time to enjoy the property and the land around it. The views were spectacular and the property itself was very nice and clean. My family and I will definitely put this property on our radar to visit in the future. Great experience and property!
I’ll start by saying the cabin is very nice. It is right on the shore of the Wind river with a view of the Absaroka Mtns behind them. It is well off route 26 but I would not call the feeling remote. You can turn left and watch the traffic on Rt 26. The layout of the cabin is nice and the bedrooms were a good size. This cabin appears to have the highest VRBO rating in the Dubois area, so we booked it for our fishing trip to celebrate a friends birthday.
Some things were not great. There were no waste baskets in the bedrooms, no catcher in the kitchen sink, a light bulb in a bathroom was out on arrival. Instructions tell you the garbage goes out to the end of the drive Tuesday night. But another instruction on masking tape on top of the can instructs to transfer the garbage from that can to one of the grey cans. I missed the masking tape message. When we returned the 2 big grey cans were empty but the black one was not. I’ve NEVER had to transfer my garbage, along with some strangers, from one can to another at any place I have ever stayed at, much less one where I am paying $380/night. The drain in the shower was clogged, not totally but a decent pool did accumulate at your feet. Lastly, the downstairs bathroom sink also had its draining challenges.
I’ve travelled the world and stayed in various levels of accommodation. I was really hoping this cabin was going to deserve a stellar review, if only for my friend’s sake, but I have to say we were disappointed.
Stayed with our family of 5 —pre-teen and teens and Grandparents. Wonderful location! Enjoyed fishing just outside the house and day trips to the Tetons and Yellowstone. Close enough to everything we needed in town but still felt secluded! First time to Dubois and this house. We will definitely be back!
Caught my daily limit of trout every day.
If you like remoteness away from people then this place is for you.
Beautiful night skies without light pollution.
The property was a great place for snowmobilers. Plenty of space to park and put you your gear out. The only discrepancy was that the beds in the living room area are barely big enough for kids. The views are amazing.
We live in Dubois but have this to say: What a great place to host 8 people visiting from Georgia! The house was a comfortable place to call home base for our daughter's mother and father in-law and her sister in-law, husband and two young adults. We fished, we visited Jenny Lake and Old Faithful, we photographed, we bowled, toured the Military Museum and we shopped until we dropped. The house was the perfect set-up for the varied ages and interests of guests. Good find!
