My family and I had a great time and did not have any issues with the property. Everything was explained in detail, we have stayed in other cabins at Duck Creek before and knew what to expect!
The cabin had everything we needed for a great stay! Loved the pack-and-play, high chair, and safety gates on the stairs and porch. The little playground in the front yard was great.
As always, the cabin was clean and the location is great. Plenty of room and everything you need in a mountain environment. This isn't my first time at this cabin and most likely won't be the last. Great host and good communication.
Easily accessible, easy parking, very comfortable, all things included were the perfect amenities. Plenty of room for a larger group. lots of wildlife to observe, and very relaxing. I recommend this cabin for all.
We had a wonderful family trip to Duck creek thanks to this beautiful property. We had a range of toddlers, teen, and adults and we were all very comfortable in this house. The kids had so much fun on the treehouse and playground keeping them busy outdoors, and lucky enough there was still a good amount of snow on the ground which was really fun as well. It was a 5 minute drive to the lake for us to spend the afternoons fishing and exploring. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for family meals, grill came in handy (both gas and charcoal grill provided), and porch was beautiful to sit and enjoy the scenery. Rooms were nicely kept and upstairs room was huge, lots of beds, and teenager had fun with the little game room attached. Thank you to host for being quick on communication when we had questions. We would love to return again soon!
Great cabin! Stayed with my family and friends for my birthday trip to Southern Utah. I really enjoyed waking up, making a cup of coffee and chilling at the deck, watching the sunrise. Beautiful, very well equipped! We came with a lot of extra items just in case but I think barely used anything since the cabin had pretty much everything we needed.
My family and friends also loved it!
The host is easy to communicate with, very flexible, and ready to work on issues as fast as possible if anything comes up.
We absolutely loved staying here! Very clean, homey, & peaceful. Love how dog friendly this is, and it is in a great location. Very close to the village which was very convenient! Would definitely love to rent this property again. We had a blast & the dogs loved the patio!
The cabin was great! It was tastefully decorated, well stocked and clean. The host Jacqueline was easy to communicate with. We will stay there again, when we return to Duck Creek Village.
We loved this place. The house was spacious, had all the amenities that we needed, beautiful environment. It was the a great place to stay. We would stay here again and again.
It was everything that it says on the website and better, the cabin is beautiful and the communication with the host its very good, she answers promptly and kindly, would definitely stay there again, thank you very much.
Great time. Only stayed 3 days and had to spend 1st day cleaning
Surroundings were beautiful, warm and cozy. Will probably plan another trip back and make it a longer stay. Jacqueline thank you for letting us stay in such short notice.
We have stayed in many cabins over the years, and the value of this specific one is a great deal. The location of this cabin couldn't be better and Jacqueline is a very nice and accomidating host! We traveled here with my family from socal in a typical front wheel drive van. One word of caution, with the amount of snow that had just hit duck creek village, with chains, we barley made it up the hill on the road to the cabin.
We will definitely be coming back and look forward to trying a visit in the summer
Well first of all the heater did not work and almost started a fire. Had to call the fire station. It was Unforeseen. But shouldn’t have been checked more closely. We told them it wasn’t heating but I guess they didn’t believe us. The dishes weren’t super clean and the bed we slept in wasn’t very appealing. No headboard and the box spring was showing. The bedding could have been nicer. The dinning table with benches was beautiful but there were no comfortable seating for my husband. That’s on me though I will investigate those things more carefully. The couch was fine but didn’t accommodate people with bad backs. All this being said they did refund some of our money since we had to leave the house only two days into our vacation. Also the outkets kept tripping so we couldn’t use our hair blower curling irons or space heaters. I’d say if they fix these things the cabin and area was beautiful. and the owners were nice.
I have mixed feelings on how our stay went so I’m breaking it down by pros and cons. While we had a great time, I felt like the cons were either concerning to frustrating for us.
Pros:
-Inside was very clean and organized
-check in and out was a breeze
-there were several feet of snow that we had a lot of fun in
-decent halfway point for all the areas destinations
Cons:
-rooms either had missing entirely or battery removed smoke detectors (none through the entire property)
-upon leaving we noticed that the chimney was completely ripped from the roof and hanging. Concerning as we had the wood stove burning and it’s just not safe until fixed for obvious reasons.
-the driveway and walkway was plowed, but not the base of the stairs up to the house, with the melt, they were very icy and dangerous. I tried to shovel out the layer, but I’m not strong enough. Not sure why it was left that way
-I know that cooking in high altitude is different, but the oven still did not match what all the guides say. We would have the oven up 25 degrees and it would take twice as long to cook our heat through. They have a crockpot as an alternative (I’m just not a crockpot person), but the oven not working was disappointing.
-can opener did not work
-the place is advertised as having a treehouse and a really cool outdoor fire pit and fireplace, but be warned, you may not have access to it, so I suggest asking if either of those were selling points (like it was for me) if they will be buried in snow or not. Fortunately we were able to access the top of the tree house and my brother shoveled out all the snow on it and a bit around it for the kids.
-with the snow melt, there was a lot of trash showing up on the property. I picked up at least two grocery bags full of strangers trash (1 because I don’t like seeing trash on the ground and 2 because I felt like if I left it there, I didn’t want the host to think it came from us being pigs).

Memorable
The cabin itself is beautiful and scenery is as well. The host is very difficult to contact, through an entire snowstorm I had difficulties communicating with the host. When we arrived at the cabin and could not get in the host was non reachable. The key pad would not unlock and we obviously needed further assistance. We could not even get up the mountain the first day of our stay and I told the host this due to a severe snow storm, the host never responded until the next day explaining check out details. After we’ve already checked into a hotel in cedar city. The day we get to the cabin the driveway is not plowed and we cannot park in it. We had to park in the middle of the street while the sun was setting so there no light. We had to plow our own way up to the front door. Then carry all of our luggage from the street all the way up the driveway. I understand you do not control the weather but making sure the plow people get the driveway plowed is your responsibility. That is when we could not get the key pad unlocked. Eventually we got the key pad open after punching the box vigorously because the numbers were stuck. Once inside The entire wall where the tv is located none of the outlets worked. Only one outlet in the kitchen worked which was located near the sink. Outlets in the downstairs bedrooms also did not work, so charging electronics was difficult. Host finally responded after hours of no response stating “break box is located on the right of the front door on the deck.” Unfortunately that door was locked shut, so no access. Then the power went out during the snow storm and we couldn’t get to the break box. For a host that leaves there phone number in case of emergency, there was no sense of urgency when getting back in contact with us. We had to stay an extra night due to being snowed in. And all the host said was “that’s fine I called my cleaning person off for the day.” Even if you hadn’t called them off nobody was getting up or down that mountain on duck creek because of the snow. I recommend this place if you don’t mind not being able to reach the host in case of any emergencies.
We had a great experience staying here. It was exactly as the owner said a rustic cabin in the woods. So if you are looking for an emaculate, posh space, this is not it. But what you get is a large space that provides all the essentials, in a beautiful atmosphere. The cabin did need a little work, but nothing that affected our stay. Thank you again to the owner for being upfront and honest about expectations, and providing a great space.
Loved the space, plenty of beds for our family! Kids enjoyed the front swing set and tree house. Lots of extras to enjoy in the area as well. Owner was very quick with answering questions. Would recommend this cabin to anyone.
NOT AS DESCRIBED--stay anywhere else! If I was not limited this review would have more complaints!
There are only 3 bedrooms, so I have no idea why it is listed as a 4 bedroom cabin. The loft space that could be used for extra beds is full of junk and at best could fit a twin mattress.
While there are 2 bathrooms, one is located in the master suite and unless you're staying with close relatives, everyone else will be left to share the other bathroom. Which is terrible if you have a large group, or any children in your group.
This place is pet friendly, so be prepared for dog hair EVERYWHERE. Also dust everywhere. When my water bottle rolled under the bed and I had to retrieve it, the carpet under the bed was covered in dog hair and trash. There was trash in the closets, a pile of dirty sponges in the sink, and dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we arrived.
The hot water will run out after one bath/shower. The wifi is spotty at best. Although the bedrooms are described as large, they are small and full of stuff. The closets are full of stuff. If you want anywhere to put your own belongings, they might fit in a corner.
My kids were very excited to try at the hammock swing from the pictures--but this was not actually there! What a disappointment. And the owner did now answer our question about if it was somewhere stored in the house, nor did she answer any of our other questions.
In fact, when we asked her for nearby hikes, she said all this information was available from pamphlets in the cabin. She says on the website that there is "tons to do" but was unwilling to tell is what these things were. So if you want to plan ahead, don't count on any help. She has some great information about how to get to the cabin INSIDE the cabin and will not provide this information to you before your drive when it would actually be helpful.
She also neglected to mention that because of the timing of our stay that any nearby attractions we found on google would be either so muddy you would need waders or covered in 3 feet of snow. And what a fun surprise for our kids to be told that this great, big promised yard was really only a few feet deep and that an OGRE would call the police if we ventured beyond the picnic table. Also that if the owner was fined because we crossed this unmarked boundary that we would be charged. So much for "lots of room to explore."
There were 3 propane tanks for grilling and the portable fire, yet only 1 had any gas. We had to drag it back and forth between the grill and the fire. And everything inside is cramped and cluttered.
