This basic beach house is perfect for 2 families or 1 large family! ONLY 750 feet to the beach and just a bike ride into the Village of Duck where you can spend the day shopping, dining, and enjoying a stroll on the public boardwalk or try your luck at crabbing!

The 14 x 25 Private pool with fiber optic lighting is a delightful way to cool offer during hot summer days, especially after a perfect day at the beach! Enjoy morning coffee, lunch, or cocktails while lounging by the pool, or just enjoy a long relaxing soak in the hot tub! Rinse off in the outside shower! There is an exercise bike that you can use as well and a spare refrigerator!

Top level: along with the dining area that offers 2 tables that can seat 6 each! The kitchen has everything needed for family vacation meals, including a Dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, and more!


Bottom level: This is where all of the bedrooms are located, 3 bedrooms with queens and 1 bedroom with a single and a bunk bed. ALL bedrooms have a TV! There are also 2 full bathrooms on this level.

What's nearby

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Duck dynasty!

This rental is a superb choice for a smaller group staying in Duck. It's a block from the beach, and at a public access point, which matters. The house has the near-obligatory pool and hot tub, both very nice and nicely secluded. It's a two-level, with bedrooms downstairs and everything else upstairs. We found the property very clean and well-tended. The furnishings are a little back-dated, but everything works, and the beds are very comfortable. One important note: You'll find not a speck of food in the place -- not even salt or cooking oil, nor coffee filters. We found the upper level almost uncomfortably warm in the midday hours, while the downstairs stayed at a constant 72 degrees. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Enjoyed our stay but carpet needs replacing.

We enjoyed the location. The house was dated and pretty dirty but we cleaned up on our own upon arrival. Strong smell of urine upon arrival we assumed was coming from the entryway rug. There were also stains in the bedroom carpet and comforter that were present upon arrival. I will not be charged for that. The carpet really need to be replaced altogether.

We have booked with shoreline obx for many years, always very happy with the homes and quick response to any problem we have had,( although very few). This home was not clean, and had a very musty smell, we vacuumed and opened doors for a bit, and cleaned up, this home is older so that is to be understood I guess, we all enjoyed the pool and hot tub, short walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood and Short bicycle ride to downtown Duck,then we opened the room downstairs to get an umbrella, the musty odor was overwhelming, black mold was noted on the ceiling and light covers, lifting the drop ceiling a bit revealed more black mold, we waited until after Memorial Day to call regarding the mold, trying not to bother anyone on a holiday, that same day someone came out to check problem(We were not there), it appeared the mold was spray painted ( three area's were painted), we left Thursday instead of Saturday, although a very quick response the problem was not resolved, I'm not sure what could have been done, but I hope this is thoroughly resolved. This is not a negative review for Shoreline OBX, we will absolutely book with them again.

Good vacation spot

We enjoyed our stay. Walk to the beach was easy for all of us ranging in age 5-63. The house could use a little upkeep. The pool was very nice everyone enjoyed it. We would stay there again.

Great week at the beach

The outdoor space/pool and easy walk to beach was just what we needed. The house is old/dated and can use some sprucing up, but could tell that from pictures. We had plenty of space for our family.

Great location and size

The location and size of the house was great. Close to the beach and downtown Duck. There were a few snags with breakers but the maintenance team was very quick to respond. The pool was perfect. The only drawback to this house is that it was very dated and could use bathroom, furniture and flooring upgrades. For the price point it was a good option

Nice week away

Overall it was a nice week away. The property is rather dated but served the purpose. Location to the beach was fine and we traveled easily into duck or Corolla. One annoyance was that some of the doors and windows were missing screens. So that was disappointing to be unable to keep doors and windows open to enjoy the ocean air without getting bugs in.

MUCH needed COVID Free get-away

Best way to vacation and still be able to avoid people to minimize exposure to the virus. The house is dated and needs a few repairs but served it's purpose well for the 4 of us. The top floor gets hot but that is no different than any other home. The main thing was that the sleeping areas were cool and comfortable!

The location is a straight shot to the beach which was nice. The pool was ideal and clean. The house could use some minor upgrades. The deck is shot with lots of nail heads popping up so use caution. The AC worked perfect and the rooms are decent sized for sleeping arrangements. Kitchen area is small and dish washer doesn’t have a lot of power to throughly clean dishes so plan on hand washing. It wouldn’t take much to make this property a sought after house

The size and location of the house was great. Very convenient to the Duck restaurants and shops. The beach is .25 miles and an easy walk. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The pool was perfect. The house was clean, but it was very outdated. The furniture and bathrooms needed updates and refreshed. We had some snags with the breaker and outlets but maintenance was very responsive and promptly fixed it. 2 thumbs up to maintenance! Based on the price point it was a good option.

I never worked so hard on vacation!!! I am a essential worker and was really excited about this trip UNTIL I GOT THERE! NO REVIEWS WAS MY FIRST CLUE! MY DAUGHTER IN-LAW CUTTING HER FOOT ON A RAISED NAIL UPON ENTERING THE HOUSE WAS MY SECOND CLUE!!! ABSOLUTELY FILTHY WHEN WE ARRIVED. 7 ADULTS WORKED FOR 2 HOURS TO SANITIZE THE HOUSE. NEVER AGAIN. TEMP IN HOUSE DURING THE DAY. 80° I WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN IF YOU PAID.

This house is disgusting

This house is so disgusting. Everything was dirty and smelled horrible. The game room smelled like rotten carpet. The carpet was disgusting. We always stay in the obx but this is by far one of the worst houses. DO NOT RENT IT. The beds are made out of rock nobody in our family could sleep. The bed sheets had some kind of urine in them. We couldn’t stat another day in that house so we left early. We tried to contact the owners but it was no use. There is also a privacy issue with this house. A guy came into the property to drop off refrigerator while we were sleeping like what kind of house is this. It was a invasion of privacy. Overall please do not stay here

This property is NOT what is advertised

This property in reality is not like the pictures. Everything is very run down. Outdoor furniture by the pool is rusting and falling apart, blinds in the house are broken, furniture inside also looks run down and the third floor deck did not feel safe to walk on. I know the management company has replied on previous reviews and said that people should manage their expectations as this is a basic beach rental. A basic beach rental is fine, but something that is that different from the pictures is not acceptable. And the management company will reply and probably say "Why didn't you contact us"? Well, because this is obviously something they aren't concerned about and things haven't improved since previous reviews. I think the biggest statement I can make is that when we arrived I let my 1 year old son take off his sandals and walk around the living room. A few hours later when I looked at his feet they were black from the carpet, which didn't look dirty. But its probably just old and has years of neglect. The state of this place didn't make our stay comfortable and that was a shame. This was not worth the price we paid for it and I hope my honest review helps others make the right choice in the future.

Great location, house needs work

The good: Great location, easy 3 min walk to the beach, nice neighborhood, the pool was nice. The bad: we’ve been vacationing at OBX for almost 15 years…this is the first time that we’ve been annoyed with the upkeep of our rental house. Maybe we’ve been lucky, but this house definitely needs some upkeep. Appliances need updated, half the wall outlets don’t work or are glitchy, and every single bed in the house “sagged” or “leaned”. Rental company was great about getting maintenance out for the broken fridge…but only so much they can do. Listed as a basic beach house, I get it but still doesn’t mean you can’t update the house with the basics. Won’t rent this particular house again

Just Don't

If you are above the age of 30 and are expecting a clean home, this is not the one. Everything feels like it needs a good wipe down or a new paint job. Updates are greatly needed. Bugs are bad too. May be part of staying in Duck, but hiring someone to do a regular power wash to outside of house and an exterminator would be a great idea.

Pictures can be deceiving

The bedrooms were smaller than pictured. The lower level game room smelled very moldy so we did not use it. We found bed bugs on our second day and had to leave the property. The management company had a bug service out very quickly and refunded our entire rental amount however, they kind of fell down on the job of finding us another place to stay. We had 2 big dogs with us, which was why I rented this pet friendly house, but they had no other properties available to us. They left it up to me to find another rental or go home. I was fortunate to call Village Realty who went above and beyond to find me a place to move to that day! They saved our vacation!

Steps away from paradise

This house is very well maintained. The rental company was on top of all of needs. The pool and hot tub are well maintained also. It was a quiet week within the street. The walk to the beach was not bad at all. We did drive some of the family to the access, they set up on the beach and other walked. We loved the different level and options on the porches. The only negative, which wasn't really a negative to us, was the lower basement room was very musty and the the game tables did not seem playable. It was segregated from the other parts of the house, so we just used the fridge to keep extra drinks cold for the beach. We really enjoyed ourselves and this home, would return!!

Here at last

Suitable for our group! The pool and hot tub very nice and clean! Too long walk to beach but we managed with bikes! Fun in the sun!
