"My brothers and our families stayed here after a family memorial. It was the perfect spot to be together and reflect and relax for a week, since we live far apart. We enjoyed paddle boarding on the quiet bay, swimming in the ocean, hiking on the local nature trails, and relaxing in the wood fired sauna and hot tub. The house and facilities were more than adequate for our large group of 10 adults. Our host was responsive and helpful. Whenever I contacted her she cared more about our enjoyment more than she did about rules and regulations. A couple of comments to help future renters choose and manage expectations: The beach in front of the home is beautiful and accessible by a raft that you pull across a narrow bay. You can wander the beach and watch the seals. We swam in the ocean here but it might not be ideal for kids to swim because you need to cross shallow waters with slippery rocks to get out far enough to swim. There are many kid family beaches nearby. If you have paddle boards or a kayak the bays and marshes are protected and lovely to explore and nature watch. The nearby hiking trail is spectacular. Be very careful on the cliffs if you have kids because they are actively eroding and there are no fences!!!! Also, watch your kids (and your fingers) if you use the wood fired sauna. Enjoy!"

"The lake house was clean and hosts, Gillian and Scott, were lovely! Rooms were clean and kitchen was stocked with essentials (coffee and tea!). Our teenage kids loved the kayaks and large yellow water mat. Our Siberian Husky, Estelle, loved the water and enjoyed sniffing around property. We loved the hiking trails: Porter’s lake provincial park and Crowbar lake. It was great to have grocery store a short drive away. Great spot for us to stay and visit family in Dartmouth."

"The property was very clean and had enough room for my husband and I. It had laundry facilities which was great for us to do a little laundry and very quiet place. Very close to amenities, Halifax harbour and the ferry if you didn’t want to drive into Halifax. Overall great stay."

"The host Simon was great and quick to respond to a couple of questions we had. The property was very nice with everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable. The property was very clean with comfortable beds, nice linens and pillows. The setting was beautiful in a nicely wooded lot and we enjoyed some of the wildlife. We had a visit from a cute bunny and a porcupine"

"Beautiful serene slice of paradise. The lofge property is so peaceful and beautiful and the cabin was exactly as advertised. Hosts have thought of everything and more. Will definitely be back. Thank you Ryan for making our stay perfect!"

"Beautiful space! Even bigger inside than the pictures show, vaulted ceilings, beautiful sunsets, awesome hot tub, easy to use BBQ, and the pool table/ping pong was a really great pastime. Comfy beds and couch, gorgeous kitchen, awesome kayaks, beautiful spot on the lake. It was private, quiet, clean, and peaceful. Lots of wildlife!Fair warning: the entire suite is on the second floor, which is not clear from the listing. There are 24 steep steps to climb to get from the entrance into the unit. I am recovering from a broken leg & ankle surgery and it was difficult to manage. Just FYI.Also the sandy beach has been covered in gravel, and the unit doesn't include a microwave or condiments. Pack accordingly!"
