About this property

Come relax in a Tranquil Cottage on Island Lake!

  • Charming LAKEFRONT home, right on the shore of Island Lake Kubash Bay, straight north of Duluth. Living room w/ gas fireplace & large window to beautiful sunset views, and water’s edge deck! Redecorated in 2022! HOSTS STAY in the LOWER LEVEL apt of the house, to give guests the top 2 floors to themselves (w/ their own entrance). 20-25 min to Canal Park/downtown, 17 min from the mall area, in a setting that is the best of both worlds: “Northwoods” peace & nature, w/ amenities & nearby conveniences of a rural city area!

    *** DOCK IS REMOVED from the lake approximately Oct 15th. BACK IN the lake approx. May 15th. (Likely paddleboat & inflatable SUP also, but this is more weather-dependent)

    * Many STAIRS from street level down to the house & lake (see pics).
    * Please note our easy access to the city is due to our proximity to the small nearby highway. Vehicle traffic is easily heard outdoors, and while generally quiet, there are time of the day/week/year where this varies as to the amount of traffic.
    [Gnesen Township Permit STR #23-04]. **PLEASE review the HOUSE MANUAL on site (in binder by the entry door).

IF the dishwasher is FULL, and you want to run it, pods are under the sink, but also not required.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Rules

We’re sorry we cannot accommodate guests’ pets. We have 2 cats of our own, who live in the lower level (One is outdoor also). And fenced chickens.
We always require a valid Gov ID (Ex. driver’s license) for the primary/paying guest. Please text a pic of the front to me or attach it in the message
REMOVE SHOES inside. If needed for wooden floors/stairs, please bring house shoes/slippers, or keep shoes on for safety, if need be.
