The four of us enjoyed our stay. The rental is extremely clean, nice large kitchen, 2 full baths with showers (one a tub shower) and we all agreed the beds gave you a great nights sleep, even without TV's in the bedrooms. We thought the living room furniture was extremely uncomfortable. Futons are hard.
We sat on the sun porch and watched the wildlife pass by. The property is HUGE and lovely. We didn't buy wood for the fire pit. You had to buy your own and we had trouble finding any as most places were sold out. Could be a nice little perk for guests that doesn't cost much money. We perhaps watch too much HGTV where Scott of Vacation House Rules has some tips for owners and a starter pack of wood would have been his suggestion, I'm sure.
We had trouble with the television as both of us couples have Xfinity/Comcast in Pittsburgh with talking remotes and all the apps are an option in their menu. Theirs was a bit more complicated so I would suggest having a cheat sheet by the TV for future guests on how to work through this. Jeff was EXTREMELY helpful in getting this to work. I'm pretty savvy with technology but must admit that this Apple Box had me a bit stumped. Took awhile to get used to but still the downside was that their package with their cable company, Spectrum, had ZERO network stations. No ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN, etc. so therefore we didn't see any world news, Jeopardy, or Thursday Night Football (where their New York Giants team was playing and lost by 1 point!)The guys were bummed. No Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, or Stephen Colbert. Jeff suggested that I upgrade my Hulu to Hulu+ with Live TV. After checking into that option I discovered it is $60/month for a trial and I wasn't prepared to do that for a few days. All the vineyards close around 6:00 so there isn't much to do but watch TV after that and we don't play games or cards. There are plenty of apps and most require a subscription but again, cumbersome to manipulate and shuffle through. That was a true bummer. BUT, the TV is large and nice.
In all the reviews, people say you are supposed to bring toilet paper which we did. PEOPLE, you do NOT need to bring toilet paper! They have a septic system and they know what kind to buy! Also, there are PLENTY of coffee filters in the cupboard next to the sink. We used the ones we brought, but believe me, there are MANY! We brought a roll of paper towels but used theirs and then left ours behind for the next guests.
