The Strand Inn was a great place to stay in Dunmore East. Sitting right on the beach, the property had a beautiful patio and dining area overlooking the water. The rooms weren’t very big but the bed was super comfortable and if you had a waterfront room than you were able to listen to the waves crash as you slept. We would definitely stay here again.

It’s raining and storming in Dunmore East so we decided to duck into Strand Inn for shelter. When we saw the fresh fish specials of the day, we decided to stay for dinner, too. We fell in love with the staff and decided we needed to stay the night!! It was the perfect decision. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning before we headed on our way. Highly recommended!!!

Our room was right above the beach. The room was smaller, a bit quirky ( in a good way), and the ocean dominated our view. The restaurant’s food and service were on par with the Michelin Star Cliff House restaurant in Ardmore where we ate the previous night. Dunmore East is a charming village and added to our pleasantly surprising experience. We slept soundly to the rthymn of waves lapping the beach. The staff was friendly and attentive, Rather than just a stopover to between two destinations, our night at the Strand Hotel stands out as one of our best stays in Ireland and when we return, it will be our primary destination.
