Bamboo House: Charming Private Tropical Oasis in the Heart of the Village.

Bamboo House is a fully renovated mid century cottage in the heart of the village. It is set within a completely enclosed private tropical oasis comprising a main house with 2 bedrooms and a separate shared bathroom, and two separate guest cottages each with en suite bathrooms. Each of the four bedrooms are outfitted with queen beds, ample storage / closet space and double glazed sound proof sash windows with solar shades. Each of the bathrooms are bright and modern, and outfitted with Kohler fixtures. The kitchen is fully equipped with white quartz countertops, Kohler fixtures and Bosch appliances - plus various coffee making options including a Nespresso machine. This quaint village home has been tastefully decorated in a perfect blend of contemporary modern style and timeless island charm. Lush outdoor tropical gardens surround the cottages and include an outdoor shower and many opportunities for relaxing and al fresco dining. Bamboo House is located on the busy end of Dunmore Street close to the intersection with Clarence Street - which is home to the famous license plate wall. Bamboo House is also equipped with a 24 hour standby generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply during your vacation. In March 2025 another 120 gallon hot water tank was added to ensure ample hot water supply for all guests.

In off peak season, Bamboo House can be rented as just the main house (2 bedrooms and one separate shared bathroom), or the main house plus one guest cottage (total 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) or the main house plus two guest cottages (4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms). In peak season, the entire property (main house and both guest cottages = 4 bedrooms) must be rented. Please note below rates and do not hesitate to further inquire:

Girls trip to Harbour Islands

Love this property!! It’s a gorgeous oasis in the center of the island. Great proximity to everything & super easy to get around! The property manager and housekeeper were wonderful! Would absolutely go back!

Charming and delightful hidden gem!

Incredibly clean and well maintained, including updated kitchen and bathrooms. Bright happy decor and very comfortable beds! Separate cottages layout make this ideal to share with multiple generational family. We will definitely stay at Bamboo house again!

Phenomenal spot for a family

This was the perfect spot!! Highly recommend! Noise was not an issue at all, our 6 month old was able to nap and sleep through the night (even with Junkanoo practice passing by outside). Everything was perfect!!!

Great home in the heart of Harbour Island!

We stayed at the Bamboo House as two families of 4 and it worked well for our group. While it is located in a central area near the liquor store and bank, behind your gorgeous gated entrance you have your own peaceful oasis. It has a great outdoor patio space and a plunge pool, as well as nicely separated bedrooms- two in the main home and two in the back. Pascale was extremely responsive and accommodating, and the housekeeper, Olga, came to clean as needed. We recommend this home and would consider staying here again!

We had a lovely stay at Bamboo House… everything was perfect there was plenty of room. We had family come and go and everyone had plenty of room. The daily housekeeping was a huge plus. We will def be back

Charming, beautiful and impressive art, coutyard and gardens exquisite, plunge pool was lovely….very well appointed with kitchen utensils and dishes more than adequate. One of our favorites on the island!!

This house was absolutely amazing! Pascale and Olga are two of the kindest, most easy people to work with that I’ve ever encountered through VRBO. The house was adorable, and we loved that it was completely walled in so our friends with kids could come over and we didn’t worry about them escaping!! Great lay out for a couples trip. Will 100% rent again!

Dream Vacation

Bamboo house was perfect for our family of four. Pascale was so accommodating to us before and during our trip. Olga was so beyond kind, replacing towels and cleaning each day. Clean beach towels was a must! We loved the location. It was quiet and secluded. The dip pool at the end of the day was refreshing. We look forward to staying at Bamboo House during our next trip to HI!

Bamboo House

Bamboo House is great for families traveling to Harbour Island. Communication with the host was great and Olga kept the house clean and tidy every day. Our only complaint is that the neighbors were very loud playing music and partying outside late into the night.

Charming Retreat

We had a delightful stay at The Bamboo House. The property is comfortable, beautifully decorated with plenty of space for everyone to find their spot! We enjoyed the outdoor area and foliage every morning and evening! The location is convenient to everything. Pascale was timely in all communication in planning the trip and readily available. Best of all, Olga and Dolce were absolutely wonderful…attentive and truly took the best care of us during our entire time on island. Would definitely recommend!

A Perfect Oasis

My family and I stayed at Bamboo House for a week in February 2024. The property was the perfect oasis for our family plus in-laws with plenty of space to spread out plus a great patio which includes a small plunge pool. In addition to the wonderful accommodations, Olga provided daily house cleaning which was such a treat! Pascale was also very timely in all her communication and answered all the questions we had leading up to our stay and while we were there. I would definitely recommend this property to any family or group! We will be back.

I’d buy this house if I could afford it!

Such a lovely property. Beautifully decorated in such a comfortable style. We loved sitting in living room and talking. Beds were super soft (I loved mine!). Plunge pool was gorgeous. House is on a busier street across but we heard NO noise due to fence. If you know Harbour Island you know you don’t need a beach front rental with as easy as it is to hop on golf cart and get there. I’ll definitely rent Bamboo house again!

Wonderful family stay

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bamboo House. The host (Pascale) was great to work with and provided excellent recommendations for us to help us plan our stay and was quick to reply to any questions throughout. The housekeeper (Olga) was invaluable in allowing us to disconnect as she came daily to refresh the house and even lended a hand with our laundry. Thanks to the onsite generator, even with a spotty island power grid the AC stayed cold, the showers hot, and the TV on to entertain the kids when the parents needed a break. While the entire island is always in motion, the high walls surrounding the property created a private sanctuary and the updated windows and doors kept the house quiet. I don’t hesitate to recommend the Bamboo House and look forward to coming back.

Great Property

Beautiful property on a busy street in the center of real Harbour Island. Our family of four (two adults & two teenagers) had far more space than we needed for our nearly week-long stay. The home and the gardens are stunning. The property is basically a fortress, with walls on all side, so views out are non-existent. The outdoor areas are lovely, but we found little time throughout the day & night that was quiet enough to sit out and really relax. This is an indoor experience, which is fine b/c you come here to rest and then go out and adventure. Dolce & Olga were amazing, and Pascale is a great communicator and she's very kind. Bathrooms could use a refresh, but otherwise a stunning space with beautiful art and architecture! Park your golf cart directly in front of the main entrance, and get out early b/c everything sells out fast! Bamboo House is definitely a great alternative to the resorts. Thank you, Pascale and Dolce & Olga!

Amazing first stay in Harbour Island!

We absolutely loved Bamboo House! It was the perfect first introduction to Harbour Island. It's centrally located to anything you could want to see around the island yet somehow still feels tucked away! The property grounds are beautiful and quiet. The walls surrounding keep out the outside noise, and make you feel safe and secure in an unfamiliar country! The plunge pool was the perfect way to cool off after coming in from the beach, and we spent so much time on the patio hanging out for dinners in. The house itself is a home away from home with a comfortable living area and fully stocked kitchen! The beds are SO comfortable and Olga took great care of us for the entire trip to make sure we had fresh linens and made beds. I couldn't reccomend Pascale, Olga, and Bamboo House more! We'll be back for hopefully many more family trips to our new favorite place :)

Our Getaway at Harbour Island - Bamboo House

Bamboo House Harbour Island From the moment we opened the beautiful wooden doors to our gate, we were welcomed into a private, tropical oasis. The courtyard greets you with lush plants, a plunge pool, and a beautiful table for to enjoy breakfast. Inside is equally beautiful as well as cozy and welcoming. The welcome gifts were personal and thoughtful and ensured the kids had a great time at the beach swimming in the ocean. The kitchen provided all that we needed to prep breakfasts and lunch. The beds were amazing and provided the perfect nights sleep after a day of playing in the ocean. And to make it extra special, Miss Olga and Mr Dolce were so warm and kind, with extra help with keeping the house beautiful, assistance with laundry, and letting us taste fresh coconut from the beautiful palm trees. Without a doubt, when we come back to Harbour Island, we’ll be coming back to Bamboo House.
