This was the first time we have had a family vacation with our daughter-in-law and son-in-law and grandkids included. None of us had to been to this area before but we knew with Covid going on, we wanted to stay in a house together instead of a hotel. I'm going to list all pros and cons.
Pros:
*This was a perfect location being halfway between Durango and Silverton.
*I loved how it was easily accessible but you felt like you were in the middle of the mountains with no one around you.
*Absolutely, hands down the most beautiful deck. Perfect for everyone to gather and enjoy the environment surrounding the home.
*I loved the arrangement of the kitchen and living room and the ability for a large family like ours to all sit in the kitchen together.
*The kitchen was very well stocked and so was the rest of the house as far as bedding, towels, and toilet paper.
*The hosts were excellent at getting back with us. They were also very helpful with any questions I had about the area.
*The chipmunks were a highlight of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed them and the abundance of hummingbirds on the deck.
*After a long day of riding trails, we were able to come back to the house and relax. If the mosquitoes got too annoying, we would go to the basement to the movie room and enjoyed each other's company while watching shows. It was awesome!
Cons:
*Our bedrooms reeked of moth balls. I understand that there is an issue with moths and something had to be done, but I have a very sensitive nose and it was difficult for me to sleep for a couple of days. I've never checked into it before but wish there was an alternative.
*The hot tub was broken. :( Again, I totally understand how these things happen. It was just really sad because EVERYONE was really looking forward to that part of the house. The part didn't come in before we left so we didn't get to use it.
None of these things were deal breakers for us. We really did enjoy our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
