Unique, 2 bdrm/2 bath mountain home. Sleeps 5. Views & close to Durango & Purg

Two bedroom, 3 beds, two full bathroom home nestled in the mountains close to Purgatory and all Durango has to offer. Sleeps 6 people

Beautiful mountain cliff views out the front and back windows! Hiking right in the neighborhood. Restaurants, bars, gas station and small market nearby.

My home has a master bedroom and a second bedroom in the open loft. The loft also has a small desk and sitting area with a couch. All beds are NEW including sleeper sofa mattress.
Main floor bedroom: King bed
Loft: King trundle that can be separated to be two twins
Living room: Sleeper Sofa with upgraded, comfortable mattress

-Guests routinely say that my home is very clean. Housekeeping is vigilant about CDC cleaning recommendations.

My home has two full bathrooms, a small library/nook (great for bird watching and a cup of coffee), a nice sized kitchen (with dishwasher, convection oven, a large coffee maker, etc), a dining area with plenty of seating, comfortable living room and a dry bar in the entry. Guests have access to the whole home minus the garage, a few closets and cabinets. Whether coming to ski at Purgatory, fish or boat at Electra Lake, ride the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train, hike the area mountains or raft the Animas River my home will be a lovely, comfortable place after your fun filled day!

WINTER only info: You’ll need 4wd, good tires and driver when there's snowfall. If we get over 6 inches a snowplow will come as soon as they can. Usually around 11 they get to our drive. If you can’t get your car out you’ll need to wait or find alternate transportation (please don’t leave the car in the way of the plow though :).

Great house and location!!!

This is the second time we have stayed at this house.....it is everything shown and more! The location is also great: near fishing, Trimble Hot Springs, and Durango.

Beautiful setting

We had a great time the week we stayed....the house was everything you could want with so many personal touches to make your visit perfect. This house was extremely clean and very comfortable! An added bonus.....it is only about 10 miles north of Trimble Hot Springs, which is a great place to relax.

Great location between Purgatory and Durango.

Much cooler location towards Purgatory. Friends stayed closer to Durango and it was 10 degrees hotter in July. House was clean and had everything we needed. Perfect for a family of four!

Simply Perfect

We absolutely love the Bates Manor! Close to all our favorite spots and incredible views from the front porch. The house is perfect for our family of four. The house is fully stocked with everything you will need. We will be back for sure!

Great place in the Aspen trees near Durango

The house was great for my family of 5. It’s near the Purgatory ski area and was a great starting place to explore nearby hiking and Durango. Brian was a great host with lots of information and was quick to answer our questions. My wife loved the Aspen trees in the neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

Simply Perfect!

What a wonderful week! We absolutely loved the layout of the house and the incredible location. Close to amazing hikes, creeks and trails for biking. My two boys(six and thirteen)loved having the loft to themselves. We enjoyed the gorgeous cliff views each night on the patio and found the house had everything we needed for our week long stay. We will definitely return!

Side by side riding in Colorado

The house was clean and well maintained. Wish the grass was shorter so we could have enjoyed outside sitting at night! Overall a great experience. Had some wifi issues but the owners were very attentive to it and understood our frustrations over it! They compensated us for our trouble.

Beautiful, little mountain home. Great location for Durango and Silverton.

This was a beautiful little home for our trip. For four adults and a child it was perfect. We were able to enjoy the local activities in both Durango and Silverton. Owner was very responsive to any questions and gave lots of information about things to do in the area. There are narrow steps to the loft as described, made it a little difficult to carry large suitcases upstairs. . But if you are agile this was no problem! I would highly recommend this rental!!

Quiet

The property is just off the highway, yet quiet and peaceful. It is a trek to most of the activities we did, but the drive is certainly enjoyable. The property is as-listed, in good condition. Do know the stairs to the loft are steep and narrow. While not an issue, may be for some. We were hoping the piano was in tune, but truly our only suggestion would be to improve the pots and pans. Otherwise, our stay was enjoyable with plenty of space.

Simply Amazing

If we could give more than five stars, we would. We are a family of four (kiddos are 3 and 5). This was our first extended family vacation, and this home could not have been more perfect. The views are absolutely breathtaking. It's a short 20 minute drive north of Durango. It is a two minute drive to Electra Lake (stunning views!). The home has everything you could possibly need for cooking, there is ample wildlife, proximity to outdoor fun, and the home is clean and cozy. We could not have been more pleased with this house. Good base for Purgatory

Very comfortable home. Quiet, warm, peaceful getaway. Beds are comfortable. Wood stove easy to use, there was plenty of firewood on-site to use, and it warms the place fast. Only 12 minutes from Purgatory Ski Resort parking lot even with heavy snow. 4wd / AWD a must for us, but we did get over 3 feet of snow during the week we were there. Roads and driveway got plowed everyday. The only major negative was a bad, "nursing home" smell in one bathroom. Not sure if its the plumbing or old water damage somewhere, but it was pretty constant so we just didn't use that bathroom much. Owners responded quickly to any inquiry and also sent out a lot of helpful information right after we booked the house, so we could start planning before we even got there. Overall, a nice place to stay for a family of 4. Thanks Brian & Dawn

The Best White Christmas

The property was great and the owners/hosts were wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. We had snow, hiking, and sledding available right there and also a few minutes down the road. Durango was close. The views were great. Looking out the windows or when outside it is easy to forget other cabins/houses are close by as there are literally mountains across the street and right behind the cabin. The only thing I would suggest is replacing a few of the dishes that are worn and getting a couple of plastic cutting boards rather than the glass one but overall it is well stocked. They have books, games, and much to do alone or as a group inside and nature will keep you busy outside. We had no trouble on the road or driveway even with a couple days and nights of snow as we have 4x4. You will need it in the winter. The plow comes fairly often when needed. I highly recommend this place!

Awesome and Quiet Location

This house and location were perfect for our Colorado vacation. We planned things in Durango, Mesa Verde, Silverton and Ouray. This was the perfect spot and not too far from the activities that we chose to do. The house was very clean and Brian was very easy to get in touch with. His response time was great when we had a question. The neighborhood was very quiet and the perfect get away!

Cozy and Convenient

Our experience was great! Very cozy and clean. Close to all the different activities that we had planned. Brian was great with getting back with us regarding our questions. Kitchen cookware was a little on the scared side, however, the coffee maker was great and the stove was great too. King bed in master room was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend.

Cabin

The cabin was perfect! We had everything we needed and its just up the road to Purgatory. They even sent us a crockpot and griddle which was amazing so we didn’t have to bring our own along. Great communication and a wonderful stay overall. Can’t wait to go back next year!

Great condo for a ski weekend

This property was great for our family with teens. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and there is nice division of space in a compact home. And most importantly with teens, 2 full bathrooms! We were minutes from skiing at Purgatory. Brian was very easy to communicate with. We would stay here again.
