Owls Nest is a private loft studio that looks out at the stunning views of La Plata Mountains and the sweeping farm land of Florida Mesa. It is 15 minutes drive from Downtown Durango. With stunning views of the La Plata Mountains and the sweeping farmland, Owl`s Nest is so sheltered and cozy on the inside. This is a romantic jewel box of comfort with all the amenities of a boutique hotel. We love having a diversity of people come stay from all over the world.

Located in the irrigated farm and ranch land on Florida Mesa, this location is only 15 minutes drive from Downtown Durango. Guests are always blown away by the solitude and beauty of the place so close to town. You will often hear Barn Owls hooting at night or see them swooping though the moonlight on the hunt!

My husband and I have been renting vacation homes for 15 years now and this is our latest addition. We have really tried hard to make this one just a cut above and focused the remodel to get a unique and quality feeling. You can see all our places at CasaDurango.com. Children and pets are more than welcome here. The orchards are so fun to just relax in for a picnic or outdoor nap, and you can go for a walk around the surrounding hay fields. We have cows, horses, chickens and one good farm dog. They are all overly friendly!

The covered porch is complete with BBQ and furnishings for outdoor dinning or relaxed morning coffee. The porch, entryway and entire indoor space is Private and not shared. The entrance is a foyer with an office area and coat closet and then you go up the stairs to the main living area.

The front sidewalk, covered porch, entryway, foyer, and entire indoor space is all private and not shared with anyone. The Owls Nest is the upstairs apartment built over the main house. It is mainly built directly over the garage and therefore it is quiet and private to the downstairs residence. The downstairs house is occupied by a nice family and I, the owner, live on the property next door.

A super comfortable king sized bed made of reclaimed telephone poles has a built in bookcase around the bottom with a small library. A reading nook for enjoying the quiet with a book. There is a twin bed also with a Tempurepedic Mattress that kids will love, tucked into one of the window alcoves.

The kitchen is both adorable with open shelving and built in bar seating.Very usable with lots of great cookware to make a chef happy!

You can park on the south side of the oversized garage which leads directly onto the covered patio. Guests are more than welcome to take walks in our hay field and the orchard.

We are available for anything you might need.

Owls Nest is located south of Durango. It is only 10 minutes to the hospital and 10 minutes from the air port! 15 minutes from Downtown Durango.

If you do not have a car, we will rent you ours! It is Electric and runs off our huge Solar Power System. We have been known to pick guests up at the air port. There is also Uber in Durango.

Dogs are welcome. We do have a $50 pet fee. I provide a large sized dog crate and a white noise machine if you want to use those for your dog. You may only leave your dog unattended only if you know it will not bark and disturb the neighbors in Casa Luna below.
- We have quiet hours starting at 8pm so as not to bother the folks downstairs in the main house.
