Very lovely setting above Dunamas Bay. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Each night we relaxed in sitting room to the glow of wood burning in the fireplace.

I can't recall ever leaving a review for a stay (and we've traveled a lot) - we definitely have to make an exception for Julia and Mike at Carbery Cottage. From the minute we arrived we felt welcome, very well looked after, and completely at home. The house and grounds are gorgeously clean and well appointed and you simply can't ignore all of the thoughtful touches around the property - from the cans of water in-room (no plastic!) to the brilliantly organised breakfast (the kids absolutely loved picking out all of their options on the provided menu sheets the night before). This B&B has it all - perfect hosts, fantastic and varied breakfast, stunning views, and brilliant location for exploring the Sheepshead/Mizen/Beara Peninsulas. We tend to be a bit nervous about staying at small B&B's as sometimes they can be hit or miss, especially when you have such close interaction with the proprietors but we can truly say that we've never felt so welcome and comfortable during a stay - it really was a home away from home (our kids and old dog certainly thought so!) I can say without a doubt that we will be returning and very much look forward to future stays and jaunts around the area (such a gorgeous area). Pack up the car and do yourself a favour and book *at least* a few nights - there's so much to see and do, you will not be disappointed. Thanks so much Julia and Mike!
