We stayed two nights, enjoyed the fire pit. It was very quiet and relaxing. The cabin is very nice and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again!!
What a perfect spot to come “home” to after our Vermont adventures! The outside deck is perfect for watching a sunrise or star gazing. You can hear the brook bubbling. Great place to unplug and relax! Great communication with the owner. (Note:no television or microwave-didn’t bother us but good to know before purchasing groceries) We would definitely stay again!
Peaceful cabin with beautiful mountain views - the perfect place to unwind and renew. We enjoyed playing games and relaxing in the coziness of the cabin. And also had fun taking walks in the surrounding area and hiking nearby. The cabin had everything we needed and very easy to check in and out.
This was our third time staying here over the years and we just love it! It feels like you’re a million miles away from civilization, which is so relaxing, but yet you’re actually close by to many great things to do. We always go to Warren Falls and The Mad Taco and neither disappoints! Peter and Sandra’s place is a perfect spot to get away from it all. The view is spectacular and the cabin has everything you need. Will definitely be back again!
Beautifully tucked away in the hills of Vermont, the house has all the essentials you’ll need for a quiet get away. We did some great snowshoe hikes and went into Waterbury and Waitsfield for provisions and Prohibition Pig. Peter was responsive and thorough in his communication.
Our stay at this cozy cabin was amazing!! From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The cabin was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our stay even more enjoyable. The warm, inviting atmosphere was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The host responds very fast if you have any questions. You can walk down the road and find the most beautiful brook. The sounds are amazing. We are definitely planning to be back a second time!
My partner and I had an incredible time in this beautiful cabin in Duxbury.
It had everything we needed for a quiet, weekend stay. We spent one day hiking nearby Camel’s Hump ( a wonderful Class 3 scramble!). And spent the next day indoors while it rained, enjoying the beautiful views from the bedroom and living room. We cooked and baked, and opened up some great cans of beer from nearby breweries.
Best of all was the easiness of checking in and out with Pete and Sandra. They were remarkably generous and kind towards us. As well as very prompt with their communication. We hope we can come back soon!
A special, beautiful place in the mountains. My husband and I spent time here to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the house (just a pictured), the views (be sure to get up in the morning to see the clouds low in the valley below), and the surrounding walks/hikes (follow the snowmobile paths surrounding the house - gorgeous, quiet, some parts are relatively untouched, some elevation - especially the steep walk up from the house).
We visited neighboring towns with other hikes along the way. Spent the most time in Waterbury where we visited Ben & Jerry's, sampled Cabot cheeses, Smugglers' Notch spirits (bourbon for us), Lake Champlain chocolate, and Cold Hollow cider. Fun afternoon! :) We also enjoyed walking around the town, visiting small shops, sipping cocktails at Prohibition Pig, and dining at Hen of the Wood.
Also loved our day in Burlington, and afternoon at the Topnotch Spa in Stowe where we spoiled ourselves on our last day in town.
The fall views as we drove from town to town were spectacular, as was coming 'home' to our little gem in the mountains each night.
Thank you, Pete and Sandra, for sharing your special place with us and for your wonderful communication leading up to and during our stay!
Excellent stay at a very nice secluded cozy cabin. Very clean, fireplace was very warm and inviting. Host gave great local recommendations. Highly recommend
Fantastic location, views, and stay. The cabin is as advertised and the kitchen comes well equipped. The drive to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen was well under 25 minutes. Would certainly return during any season.
This cabin was perfect for my mom, sister, and I to go away for a weekend! It was exactly the space we were hoping for- very clean, a pretty view, and cozy vibes inside! The fireplace was so cozy and there was the perfect amount of room for each of us. Check in and out was easy, and the host was very informative and responsive. A great weekend for sure!
Perfect place for my family of four to unplug and relax with easy access to nearby towns. Easy check-in and great communication from the owners. Highly recommended.
Loved the place. And the location was the perfect combo of convenient and isolated. A little more info on nearby hikes as well as starter kitchen set of coffee, tea and associated condiments would have been terrific. Also more info on compost would have been helpful (e.g., in NC I cannot compost bones outside, also the referenced under the sink box did not appear to exist).
Beautiful, private, peaceful cabin in the woods. The place was spotless, well appointed and welcoming. The views were gorgeous from inside the cabin and out and we loved having morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs on the deck overlooking the mountains. Easy, quick communication with the hosts, who also provided a ton of helpful information about things to do and see in the area prior to our check in. I would definitely love to stay again and would highly recommend! Thank you for sharing the space with us!

Comfortable, cozy, not kitschy, with nice appliances and furnishings. The location is beautiful and serene - heavily forested, with a babbling brook running alongside the property. The place is clean and well-kept. The shops and restaurants in Waterbury are a short drive away. My only quibble with the property is with the upstairs beds, which made a horrible racket when you turned or shifted your weight.
Amazing cabin! It was spotless when we arrived, and in excellent shape. It is a couple of miles down a dirt/gravel road, and you will definitely without question need AWD in winter (maybe even in wet weather, as the house is up a fairly steep hill). The road has houses on it, but is very quiet and seemed to have almost no cars driving by. The house is right next to the road, but the trees block it, and we had maybe one car pass by the entire time, so it felt very secluded and private. The view from the deck is just as great as it looks in the photos. We will definitely come back here, this was the perfect peaceful getaway!
The view/back porch and location (central to many popular cities in Vermont) were perfect. The drive to the house is a bumpy, hilly, dirt road so be prepared for that. I could have used more privacy with window coverings, but that’s a personal preference. I would say this house is most suitable for 2 people. The loft has a low ceiling and the beds are low to the ground. Perhaps some young children wouldn’t mind it but I don’t think many adults would be comfortable. The pillows could use updating. The house was clean and felt homey.
