"Here’s a sharper, but still credible and postable version of your review: ⸻ I’m extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Wingate by Wyndham Fairbanks. I booked a King Deluxe room expecting something that actually resembled a “deluxe” setup, but what I walked into was far from it. The room was bare—just a king bed, a TV, and a desk. No real furniture to speak of. The “seating” was basically a dining-style chair, not the couch or comfortable chair you’d expect when paying extra for a deluxe room. It felt stripped down and cheaply put together. To make matters worse, the room had a strong odor that was very similar to cat urine. That alone made the stay uncomfortable and honestly unacceptable. The surrounding area has also gone downhill. There were vagrants lingering on corners nearby, which made things feel unsafe and added to the overall negative experience. What’s most frustrating is that I’ve stayed here years ago, and it used to be a nice, comfortable place. Now it feels like it’s been neglected and poorly managed. Definitely not worth the price, and I won’t be staying here again."

"This was my second time staying here. The motel is in a good location, only about 15 mins from the Alyeska ski resort. Rooms was clean and warm (I stayed in March), and I would say quiet but when you have "horses" staying next door, you here their jumping and kicking and drumming... There was coffee, tea and teamaker, microwave and fridge in the room. Checking was quick and simple. I received an sms with the details and all went well. I like the large eagle statue outside the motel."

"Perfect space for our needs. I only regret that I did not sleep well at all. The bed was not very comfortable, but everything else was great! Love the fire place, kitchen was great, and the view was amazing!!"

"For the first time ever after paying for the unit, I received an email that required verification of my identity which required a photo of the front and back of my drivers license. This is an difficult process requiring me to take a picture of my license and send it in which had to be attempted several times. After doing that I received an email back saying without any explanation, that the verification failed and therefore my reservation would be cancelled. I therefore, had to call the phone number provided and talk to a representative who told me that the only problem was that they needed a physical address which was never asked for as part of the verification process. All this occurred while we were driving to Anchorage in -5 below. Were we suppose to spend the night in there cold after you canceled my reservation? You already obtained verification of my identity when you took my credit card information and should not have taken my money if you were going to require another verification. I’m sure I would have had to fight with your company to get my money back if you had succeeded in canceling the reservation. This is an extremely annoying inconvenience and I will not be using your company for future lodging. "
