Our family loved staying at this beautiful and inspiring property - which gives you a feel for the Alaskan frontier. We especially enjoyed the wood fireplace in the evenings. Whitney is a super accommodating and helpful host.
We loved our stay in Eagle River! While we didn't get to experience the wildlife others have, we still appreciated the location. Whitney was an excellent host. The cabin provided all the amenities we needed.
This cabin is a wonderful place to stay near Anchorage. The location is perfect. It is about 15 minutes from a large grocery store and Walmart, but when you are at the cabin, it seems like you are in the wilderness. The setting is beautiful and has incredible views. The living room is large and beautifully decorated with Alaskan art. The kitchen is supplied with necessary cookware and utensils, and the washer/dryer came in handy. We would definitely stay in this cabin again.
What an amazing property!
Our family had a great time at this rustic cabin homestead. It has an amazing view and was everything we’d hoped it would be!
This cabin fit all of our needs and wants. It was just perfect and in a perfect location. The host is super and communication with the host was easy and with quick responses. If we ever find ourselves in this area again, we'll for sure look at this property to stay at.
Perfect cabin to stay in for our honeymoon! Nestled into the mountain but not far off the main highway. Great cabin feel with moden amenities. Host were very friendly and great with communication.
Great place, clean, comfortable and great view. Close to Anchorage, but very private and quiet. Owners were fantastic and easy to deal with. I would recommend to anyone staying near Anchorage.
We had a lovely time here at the very cozy cabin with its incredible view, comfortable bed, close to town and hiking trails! History and the decor of this cabin gave it a lot of charm and we thoroughly enjoyed our nights here. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us and going above and beyond for us!
First time visiting Alaska and was not disappointed, will be coming back again, the cabin was very nice and cozy and the view of the mountains from the yard was amazing
Loved, loved, loved the cabin. Beautiful view and was equipped for all of our needs. The location is quiet and provides easy access to the Chugach State Park's interpretive center. Close to Eagle River and Anchorage which came in handy for attending UAA graduation ceremonies. The moose sighting was a bonus!
This was absolutely the best cabin my wife and I stayed at during our honeymoon in Alaska. It was very cozy and welcoming, and we enjoyed the ability to watch a movie in the incredible living room before bed. The property felt very private and made us feel like we had our own little piece of Alaska for a night. Wish we stayed longer.
The cabin is amazing with great views in every direction. Located just 5 miles from the Chugach State Park and 5 miles from a grocery store. The cabin's family room is huge and perfect for kids and adults. This property worked perfectly for us and was close to nearby hiking trails. Love it.
When picturing a place to call home for a few days near Anchorage, Alaska, this property hits the mark! From the log cabin design to the wilderness decor to the incredible views, you won’t be disappointed. And the location is remote enough to feel nestled up in the mountains but close enough to the conveniences of town. You found your Alaskan home!
The views are absolutely stunning and they have so many windows. We actually got to see the northern lights one night. Autumn was a beautiful time to come as all the trees were turning colors and it looked like a painting. It was fun to stay in a rustic Alaskan cabin, which had most of the necessities we needed and Walmart is only 10 minute drive .
The home is a well-maintained, beautiful log cabin with comfortable furnishings and well-stocked for an easy stay. The views of the mountains cannot be beat! The host was super communicative and friendly, even providing a steamer for our use as we were attending a wedding in Eagle River. Had the pleasure of meeting Whitney on our last day and she shared that her great aunt built the cabin!
The Alaskan Homestead is a wonderful place and location for an Alaska adventure! The homestead is clean and everything in the home works very well and home is well stocked with amenities. The location itself is wonderful, with (when I was there) a wonderful view of fog filling up the Eagle River Valley while I sipped coffee of the front porch of the cabin. There was also plenty of room for my toddler grandson to run around in the grass when my family came for a visit. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We pulled up here and all 4 of us said "wow." The view of mountains are incredible.
The log cabin id an amazing place to stay in and well stocked with everything you need. We stayed here as 2 couples and had plenty of room. The pcabin is very spacious with lots of sitting room.
We loved sitting outside in Aditondock chairs in the evening looking at the mountains; what an incredible view.
With our binoculars we even could see a mountain goat.
We have stayed in many VRBO homes and this is one of our favorites!
