Peaceful Getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotter cottage on Dad's Lake. It was so peaceful and the weather was perfect for our fishing adventures, walks, nights around the firepit and exploring Eagle River. The cottage has a lovely great room that we didn't use much which is a shame as the view of the lake in the morning is gorgeous. I would suggest putting a TV in that room for families to gather and really enjoy the setting. We had a group of 4 and did fine in the smaller living area next to the kitchen, but the early morning sunshine sometimes made it difficult to watch TV. Maybe a shade or blinds could be added here. Loved our week there and the colors were just starting to turn, so it was a sight to see. Recommend highly.

OK ..but
Biggest issue was the weather was hot and the lack of ac and especially dehumidifier was problematic. Was unaware the main bedroom was on a lower level which was also very dank and musty. Found it pretty unpleasant and definitely impacted our stay! Overall we found the house to have one good main living room which was nicely furnished etc but felt the rest of the house and outside area to be less than ideal but not terrible…

Hotter Cabin
Great stay! Great views. Boat, canoe and katak available to use and we used them all. Fire out area was big and had lots if seating and you can cook on it. Swinging grate to go over fire was used for all of our meals. Home was nuce inside. Had nice fireplace to sit and cozy up to. Kitchen well supplied with diahes and cookwear. Washer and dryer with complimentary laundry detergent was very nice. Great stay! Had a great relaxing weak stay.

Hidden Gem
Truly a beautiful spot! The lake offered glimpses of eagles, loons, and deer. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, & fishing. The no wake lake allowed our kids to explore without worry. The lake was quiet. The cottage offered beautiful views, plenty of space and activities for down times.

Gorgeous property, wonderful location on the lake and surrounded by woods, but roomy enough for walking the dogs around. Had all the features promised in the description. Inside of cabin was clean and beautifully decorated. Great views out the large windows.

What an amazing home! So peaceful and comfortable. Gorgeous northwoods decor and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Great room overlooking the lake was amazing. So close to lots of adventures. Would love to have stayed lots longer.

Mystery Entry with little light and scary backroads
The cabin was wonderful, very comfortable and cozy. We received no directions how to get to cabin, and our GPS took on through ATV trails, unbelievable. I did ask a neighbor if there was a roa, and he did tell me how to get to Cty Rd G. There were no paper products(Kleenex) and other cabins had supplied. There outside lighting was terrible, had a motion sensor that turned on for 5 seconds, if lucky, they need a regular outside switch. It is so dark there, we had a dog we kept him leashed, but was so hard to see door and see where he was. The TV service was terrible. There were no directions on how to use, one of the tv controls didn't even work. Could receive on broadcasting channels ABC! CBS! NBC Thank you. We did lock key inside cabin when we left, we left Thursday. I did a load of towels, had no dryer to dry them couldn't get it to run, it did turn on but wouldn't start, again no directions Thank you, Susan Beskehow to use. We did not strip bed, sorry, saw no instructions on needing to do that. When got home saw on iPad what we were to do.

A nice quiet lake
A gorgeous piece of property. Comments included "If I owned this property I would live here year around." The lock box was in a difficult place for a senior person to reach and see. The online code had an apostrophe first so we were looking for that too--confusing.

Loving the North Woods and Hotter’s Cottage
We enjoyed our stay again at Hotter’s cottage. The lake is perfect for swimming and fishing. We also enjoy the area and spend time in The town of Eagle River. The cottage is comfortable and truly a North Woods experience.

Relaxing getaway.
We needed a place to stay that was closer to the zoo so we could get to our family dog sooner and not have to travel with a baby there and back home in one day. We are so glad we stayed the extra days. Nice calming and relaxing time on the lake even if it rains for a day.

Northwoods fix
The view from anywhere in the cabin was beautiful! Really peaceful and quiet. Ammendities were exceptional inside and outside. Having lived in the area, this was a perfect location for day triping out to our favorite lakes. Did not fish Dad's lake, but saw lots of bass! Thanks for allowing us to stay, it was perfect!

Quiet Winter Get Away
We spent a weekend here in December and it was very quiet and beautiful in the snow. Lots of space and comfortable seating area. Kitchen has all the tools you need but not a lot of basics so pack your own. Beds were not that comfy. Everything else was great

Outside Bliss, Inside Meh…
The lake, loon, canoe & outside of the cabin were wonderful!!! The inside was dingy & felt unclean. The wooden fireplace room was nice & warm, but no TV. And no local channels, so we couldn’t watch the Badgers or Packers. WiFi is patchy. Overall, a very basic, old cabin that needs updates. Location was great.

Quiet location with a beautiful smaller lake. Great for swimming, fishing and kayaking. House was comfortable and well equipped for whatever we needed. Close to both Eagle River and St Germaine. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Wonderfully quiet place with tons of wildlife sounds and sights. Place is clean and simple, just the right temperature, and lots of sun and relaxation to be had on the dock. Lots of boats to use and the water felt great!

Great experience in northern Wisconsin!
What a beautiful place to stay. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed the lake, bonfires in the evening, and the many bike trails in the area. Hope to be back again next year!

Quiet escape!
Gorgeous lake views!! A lovely peaceful retreat. (Wish it had 2 bedrooms on the main floor and a little more room in kitchen/dining but thats part of the experience of being away..) We really enjoyed our time there!! Would definitely go back. Very cute cabin with everything you need.

we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, pictures did seem a little distorted as it was smaller space than we had expected. log room was beautiful- a great place for reading and relaxing. only ask would have been for a humidifier for winter guests as the baseboard heating was very drying and we had bloody noses daily. didn’t help that it was the coldest week of the year with temps at -30! very cozy and quiet, we really enjoyed relaxing here. grateful they allow pets as well!

Great little get away!
This location is super quiet and great for relaxing. Dogs also enjoyed the space! Wi-Fi was a little spotty. Wish there was a tv and board game area in the wood room. We didn't get to spend as much time in there as we'd like, but that is ok. Beds were super comfy!

This cabain is the best!!!! Great views around the lake and in front of it. We had a great moments and the best thing is that it’s really private. Great property. Covid had forced us not to stay with our usual group this year, for safety concerns. This let us stay 2 minutes down the road and still participate in the season. Nice home, very comfortable and well prepared.

Beautiful Getaway Cabin in the Woods
This property lives up to its photos. Just as represented. Splendid lake view. Cozy fireplace. Older, so kitchen is small and no dishwasher, but clean and well stocked. Very private king bed & bath is downstairs. Internet is limited by location, so if you’re planning a working vacation know that it may not be up to your home office standards. Nice fire pit outside. Somewhat remote, but easy drive to Eagle River for groceries. Very enjoyable!

We picked this property so that we could get together and relax. The property location was great. On the second day of our stay, a woman arrived and said she had the house reserved. She talked as if I had personally double reserved this cabin and wanted us to pack up and leave. She stayed in our driveway staring into the windows for a while. Then more cars arrived. Noone wanted to go out a grill our dinner. I can understand how frustrating that would be for her but it was also frustrating for us to have to defend ourselves and have a family glaring into our windows until they finally figured it out.

Beautiful location
The positives: The location was absolutely beautiful and secluded. The big room with the fireplace is beautiful and you are able to open all of the windows. It is extremely peaceful and secluded. It was so fun to be able to bring our dogs with us! We had fun fishing and having them swim. We made great memories! Cons: We wouldn’t stay again though because the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The bed upstairs was so hard, my husband and I were sore everyday. My in-laws slept in the downstairs bedroom and did not sleep well either. The home had a lot of brown stains on the floor in the living room and kitchen areas. We noticed it right away upon entering before we brought our dogs in so I notified the owners so we did not get blamed in anyway (which they didn’t). I did use stain remover and tried to help to remove the stains. Next, This isn’t a negative as much as it’s a heads up for people renting that the streaming was rough on the TV and some days we got no service on our cell phones so just keep that in mind. Not anything that can be helped due to the secluded location. The cleaners also showed up 45 minutes early before check out time and were sitting in the cars waiting for us to leave. We felt pressured to kind of rush out. All in all the beds were the main issue for us because we couldn’t sleep and were physically sore from it each morning. Otherwise it would have been a great stay!

Little slice of Heaven on Earth!
We were more than ecstatic with everything!! House, location, lake, fishing! Everything!!!! We couldn't believe the fishing. Caught more Bass then we had in years. Very private, very clean, very inviting & comfortable. We will be back!!

Relaxation on the Lake in the Northwoods
The 4 of us (2 couples) really enjoyed our stay. The home was very comfortable and there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed fires in the fire pit in the evenings. The lake was so calm and peaceful, just what we needed. It was so nice to be able to use the canoe, boat and paddle boat. Thank you for opening your wonderful home!
