Amazing time with amazing weather : Kayaking , sitting by the campfire, fully stocked kitchen and charcoal grill to make lots of amazing meals, everything you need for a remote setting getaway to enjoy nature without sacrificing comfort. Truly our family’s happy place , can’t wait to be back again!
Ours was just a quick trip, but we still were able to see Natural Bridge, the Safari Park, and spend a day hiking and on the river. The little cottage in the woods had everything we needed and we are already talking about returning in a different season.
We had a great stay here! We enjoyed kayaking, lounging at the cabin, hiking local trails, and having a campfire with s'mores. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway surrounded by nature.
This property has everything you need. Weather was horrible during our stay but the way the property is set up, we still had a fantastic time.
Also it is a great location on the creek!
We had a very comfortable stay at Cottage on Craig Creek. The cabin had all the amenities we needed plus more. Inside and outside. The all window room has a beautiful view of the creek. The area is serene.
Exactly as described. Beautiful river view. Really loved sleeping in the enclosed window area. Had a great time. Peaceful and relaxing. Will definately stay again!
Secluded property along Craig Creek. The mountain scenery is beautiful. The accommodations are excellent for a gathering of family or friends. Easy access to Craig Creek for anglers and paddlers.
All three of us really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The area is beautiful and very quiet. There are several hiking trails close by. We especially loved the smores that were provided :)
We definitely would recommend this place to our friends!
Great place to stay and relax. Unplugged and enjoyed peace and quiet. Worst part was packing up to leave definitely 5 stars and will stay again and again.
Thank yall for offering your home!
Great experience overall. We appreciate your generosity and sharing your cottage, kayaks, canoe, and tubes! The kids had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the free s’mores and firewood too! Would love to come back in the fall!
The property was really clean and there were so many things there that we forgot to bring ourselves like camping chairs to use down by the creek, bug spray, dish soap etc. The owners were super nice and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to disconnect for a while.
This sweet cabin is the perfect mix of rustic charm and "lets live in reality" necessities. Could not ask for it to be cleaner, or cozier. Many thanks for sharing the peace and quiet with two very exhausted humans and one recently adopted dog who LOVED every minute in your slice of heaven!
Our stay on Craig Creek was wonderful! The weather was incredibly windy so we couldn't do much on the creek and lost power due to the insane winds Saturday but it was so lovely to be outside and exploring the area right around the cabin. Mitch reported the outage for us and called us when the power was restored to ensure everything was ok.
The porch bedroom was amazing as well! It was so nice to wake up with the creek and mountain view directly in front of you and we could see the stars at night from our bed!
This is an older cabin so do not expect luxury. The spot is all about the privacy, view, outdoor space and access to a a lovely creek with easy launch of your own or provided kayaks. Lots of smaller red eye bass to catch The stream water is crystal clear and great for the dogs. Shade in the evening for the enclosed porch. Great internet signal if you can’t leave work behind. The nearby Roaring Run hike is spectacular when open. Nearest real grocery is 30 minutes away so pack well.
When I say this place is peaceful, I mean it. It was such a lovely change from my normal pace of life. I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee overlooking a small river and just enjoy the sounds of nature with no interruptions. Taking the kayak out for an hour was a treat too. The cabin is old school, but that’s what made it so lovely. I don’t think I turned on the tv once; I just enjoy the peace and quiet. Bring some beer and a book to read while you enjoy the mountain landscape. My only complaint is that I wish I had planned to stay longer!!!
I stayed at this property at the end of October with my husband and 2 kids (ages 11 and 14). We loved Cottage on the Craig and would definitely return. We called it "camping lite" - all the benefits of camping (beautiful outdoors, camp fire, peace & quiet) with all the basic amenities - running water, comfy beds, a fully stocked kitchen. I felt like the cottage was well represented by the listing. It was very clean and smelled nice and fresh and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The area in general is gorgeous, and the property itself was very pretty. This is not at all a secluded spot (there are houses/camps on either side), but it was still very quiet and peaceful. The WiFi wasn't great (although this is a bonus for us, as it forces our pre-teen/teenager to unplug for a bit), but we were able to enjoy a couple minutes of football in the living room before bed one night. We couldn't get really get on the WiFi at all in the bedroom, but it was not like we were there to watch TV or be online, anyway. We cooked one meal on the campfire and several on the stove - the stove was pretty old and a bit tricky, but it got the job done. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything that we needed. This cabin wasn't fancy, but it was cozy and comfortable and felt unique. We loved it!
