Find yourself in one of Tasmania’s most pristine and naturally beautiful regions, just one hour’s drive from Hobart.
With elevated views of the stunning Pirates Bay, Lookout House in Eaglehawk Neck offers seclusion, comfort, and expansive views in a modern eco-home nestled into the bush. Travellers can walk to the beach or easily access local attractions including Port Arthur, Tessellated Pavement, Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman Arch.
Lookout House is an energy efficient architecturally designed home featuring two bedrooms, loft, laundry and one bathroom. Elegant and modern, this home rests into the elevated bush block, offering floor-to-ceiling ocean and forest views from every
part of the house. Wake up to the sun rising over the ocean right in front of you, or relax for hours on the couch, staring out at the pounding sea. If the wind is right, you might spot some local hang gliders or local wedge-tailed eagles soaring over the
house.
Peer into Pirates Bay’s blue waters from sun-up to sunset at Lookout House while you enjoy the wonders of this rugged and beautiful region. In the summer time you can take a swim right in front and then wash off blissfully under the outdoor shower.
Designed and furnished with relaxation in mind, the home offers comfy rugs, polished floorboards, wooden cabinetry and beautiful stonework throughout. There’s amazing 150 year old convict bricks to investigate (can you find the thumbprints?)
and a cosy wood fire to warm the whole house.
Enjoy a morning brew from the café-quality coffee machine using local beans, or cook a delicious meal in the well-appointed kitchen. The home also has high-speed internet available to stay connected or stream your favourite shows.
There’s two generous sized bedrooms with Queen sized beds and ocean views and a beautiful bathroom with views of surrounding nature. There’s underfloor heating in the bathroom and a laundry with washing machine.
Lookout House is close to the incredible sights of the region – just 15 minutes to Port Arthur, 3 minutes to the must-see Tessellated Pathway, a short 5min drive to Devil’s Kitchen or the Tasman Arch.
For food, fuel and conveniences, Murdunna Roadhouse is less than 10-minutes drive from the house, and plenty of options to stock up in nearby Sorrel or Nubeena.
Enjoy outstanding local restaurants like Bangor Vineyard and 1830 Restaurant & Bar.
Guests have full access and private use of the entire property.
Please note I will not be available in person during your stay. I have a management team in place to assist guests with any questions or issues which may arise during their stay.
