"This place goes downhill every single year. We stay with a group for Christmas for the last 15 years. Wallpaper is peeling, you are charged for a “resort fee” but the pools aren’t even always working. Dining is subpar. Rooms are very dated and getting worse every year. I think it’s time for our family to move on from thumper pond. "

"It accomplished exactly what we needed pet friendly, time away to just hangout with friends and family without the distractions of work and life.However, in one of the bedrooms there were a dirty pair of pants let in the room on the floor and a pacifier from the previous people on the ground. Also, we came in the winter, so I am assuming the summer experience is excellent, but during the winter, at least, the water was untreated and smelled so bad that people chose not to take showers and brushed their teeth with bottled water."

"We stayed in October, and there was no activity on the lake, so it felt like we had it all to ourselves. I recommend arriving before dark, we had a slight problem finding the place and then the cipher lock didn’t work. The owner was very responsive and reset it remotely. Once inside, we discovered the water wasn’t working. The owner sent a plumber the next morning to fix it. But till fixed, we had no water the first night. We hauled water from lake for toilet and we had brought drinking water with us that we used for drinking and cooking. Would of been nice if owner would of compensated us something for inconvenience. Despite the rough start, we loved the place. The view from the living room was beautiful and the kitchen was very well equipped. One note: the ad says, “Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.” However, the VRBO bill also included a stay tax, service fee, and cleaning fee. A few suggestions: a bigger TV would be nice, maybe just because it was football season. And some storage containers with lids for leftovers would be helpful in the kitchen."
