Beautiful sunset views over Lake Barkley

Hunter, and Fishermen paradise.
Good hiking and historic venue. House is located on a cul-de-sac and in a quiet neighborhood with a park and fishing cove directly across the street.
The Kentucky State Prison is on the main road to Sunset House. It is an interesting part of Kentucky history from the 1800's. It has been called Castle on the Cumberland and is very interesting to see. Rose Hill Museum is generally open from May to October and we do encourage a visit to learn about this area of Kentucky.

This is a 2 story home, owners live on the lower level. There are no shared entrances, basically a vertical duplex. The second story is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with private entry off of the front or rear decks. Owners are on site to assist with your stay.
The unit is upstairs and has no handicap access.

The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare your own meals. We even keep most commonly used spices on hand for you. If you desire something special, we will attempt to accommodate.

Smoking is not allowed inside the house. 1 Dog may be permitted if they have their own crate. Under no circumstances can dogs be left alone in the house. A pet deposit is required, to be returned once the house is cleaned. Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a pet. We do not allow cats due to allergies.

We have made every effort to provide most of what you will need to make your vacation carefree.

DIRECTIONS to Sunset House:
Interstate 24 to exit 45. Take 293 toward Eddyville (not Princeton) at the stop turn Right on 93 for 4/10th of a mile then left on 730 for 2.1 miles, (DO NOT TURN OFF OF 730, GPS will direct to turn on 1055- don't do it) Left on Lakeshore Drive for 1/10 mile. We are the two story brick on the left across from the park.

We had a great weekend!

The house was perfect for us and the kids. The kitchen was amazing and we got to cook a lot in it. The proximity to the lake was perfect and waking up to deer every morning was awesome.

Lake view House

Enjoyed seeing numerous deer while there and reading an interesting book of the history of the prison, which was pretty close by the house. The owners were easy to talk with and help with questions about area.

Fun at the Lake

Linda and Frank were great made sure we had everything we needed. We spent a extended weekend there with 7 people plenty of room. Beds were clean and comfortable. We plan on staying with them again. Boat ramp was very convenient.

Absolutely fantastic!

Property is just as described, scenery is even more spectacular in person. Interesting history of the area. Small, quiet quaint towns in every direction. Owners are onsite and phenomenal. Could not have had a better experience!

Amazing views, lots of room and plenty of fun!

We had a great stay! The owners were kind and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The home had everything we needed and plenty of room for the kids to spread out. There is lots of wildlife and beautiful views of the lake. Our dog enjoyed evening walks at the lakefront park across the street. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Relaxing

We needed a restful time out of our recent daily grind. We found it at Frank & Linda’s. We got to enjoy close up wildlife. Song birds, deer, turtles and turkey were plentiful. We recharged and are ready for the work week again.

Quiet & comfortable

I was greeted promptly and given a tour of the property by welcoming host Linda. Well furnished and equipped with everything we needed. Nearby Patti's 1800 Settlement where we had a lunch reservation, as well as other good eating places. We really enjoyed watching the very tame deer graze in the yard and looking out over the lake. We all agreed we'd like to come back again next year.

Perfect place if boating/fishing at Ky/Barkley Lakes

Hosts were friendly and easy to work with. Great house- clean, well furnished, located near lake. We will come back to this location.

Cozy Getaway

Family vacation

I cannot say enough about our stay! The house was so clean and comfortable! There were tons of fliers with activities available in the area. We were greeted with a homemade peach cobbler and a welcome note! If we are ever in the area again we will absolutely stay with Frank and Linda again! Thank you for making our experience amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Long weekend stay at incredible house

Had a wonderful time at the beautiful house! The hospitality was remarkable! The sunsets were fantastic and we enjoyed watching the many deer around us. The house was spacious for our two families of four (4 adults with combined 4 children (ages 12-14). We enjoyed our time on the lake and knew we had a great, safe location to rest and retreat to for the evenings. We look forward to staying here again.

Wonderful hosts and very clean and comfortable accommodations

Frank and Lende were wonderful hosts! They greeted us as we arrived and as we left and we’re very helpful in pointing out local things to do. The upstairs unit was clean and very comfortable and was a great place to stay. Everything we needed was provided for We would be delighted to stay there again.

Sunset House was as perfect as it sounds

Easy Peasy booking. The accommodations were better than expected! Kitchen was larger than photo shows. Had 7 adults in the kitchen at many times and never felt cramped for space. Loved how easy it was to prepare for meals and the great amount of kitchen utensils/supplies included. Both bathrooms were fully equipped and never felt cramped. Lake access for the boat launch was close by and a nice trail along the shore line also made for a fun outing. The Dam was and hike on the land between the lakes was also a fun and relaxing outing. We did spend every evening playing board games and found out who are the big cheaters in Monopoly. Thank you again Linda and Frank you really made us feel welcomed and comfortable.

Deer Haven

The property is in great shape, three bedrooms upstairs (split duplex) large and well furnished. The master king sized bed is very comfortable and of good quality (a big plus in my opinion). The place is easily accessed and in a great location for Lake Barkley and LBL activities. The owners, Linda and Frank, were super accommodating and offered help or advice if needed but did not bother unnecessarily... a lovely couple. There are lots of deer and wildlife of all sorts. We saw bald eagles and osprey at the little lakeside park directly across the road from the property. Highly recommended!

Relaxing stay

Sunset house in Kentucky

Excellent property. Feels like home. We came as family of 6 people. My husband and I, 2 kids and 2 grandmothers. Spacious house. Well equipped kitchen. Great for families. We felt like we were home. Had everything we needed. A lot of deers around. It is also dog friendly. We brought our Doberman dog with us and she had plenty of space. Highly recommend! Hosts are very friendly and respond very quickly
