The little cabin on the mountainside

Its a rustic log cabin, totally handcrafted. Just below is the Chowan River and at the mouth of the Albermarle Sound. It is full of White Perch and you can go crabbing. Fire pit outside for roasting marshmallows.Its has a walk way off the back porch that will take you all the way to the river. It is very good for exercising.Firewood is provided for the fire pit.There is also a fire pit with some wood on the beach by the pier. There is a golf cart for those who choose to ride to river instead of walking. The property is located 12 miles from Edenton off of highway 45 on the Chowan River.

Lovely log cabin...just right. It sleeps 6 but was perfect for the 2 of us. Nicely decorated and attention to detail. Will visit again when we can take advantage of all the extras. We visited in January...perfect to relax away from work.

Weekend get away.

Wonderful get away, very quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed spending a day in Edenton. People were so friendly, and we learned a lot about the local history.

Perfect getaway for 2.

Perfect getaway for a couple. I think it’s perfect for 4 people but any more it would be tight. Loved having the golf cart to get down to the water to sit on the dock.

Wonderful place!!!

Came with my family to get away from the city. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Folks are so friendly and helpful. We are definitely going to return. Very neat and clean and fun! The kids had a great time. It was a wonderful weekend getaway!

Just what we needed!

We had a very relaxing weekend, exactly what we needed! The property was so nice from the BEAUTIFULLY decorated cabin to the groomed yard(s) and all the amenities to enjoy indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed the sunsets and sunrises immensely! Doug and Kim were so hospitable!

Great Little Hideaway

Enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Douglas & Kim were great. They offer such a nice little piece of peacefulness. We enjoyed the dock at the river, the fire pit was a hit with our teenage son - s’mores every night. And the bathroom is just gorgeous. Everything we needed for the week. And close enough that we travelled to Nags Head to enjoy the beach as well. Thanks for letting us use your cabin.

Charming little cabin

Mountain vibes in eastern NC. This cabin was immaculately decorated and clean. It was quite small, but the outdoor areas were so beautiful, we preferred to be outside anyhow. The beach access was just a short walk, but the golf cart was a nice convenience. Pontoon boat, bait, kayak, fishing pier, firepit with firewood provided, hammock, porch swings, basketball goal all available. We enjoyed the neighbors, they were really nice and welcoming. We enjoyed nightly visits from the neighborhood dogs and cats, all were very friendly and just wanted pets. Will recommend!

The cabin is much better than pics. Its not right on water. But behind a house thats right on water. Place is really cool, and felt safe, and even tho you are behind someone's house, it still seemed very private! The host let us extend our check out time, and answered to all questions appropriately. We had such a great time! Did not want to leave!

Little cabin on the mountainside

We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend! Everything was exactly as Doug and Kim advertised, and then some. We enjoyed being able to grill out and cook our own food in the well equipped kitchen. We loved using the fire pit and being able to relax in a beautiful surrounding. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Being able to take a few tours on the golf course was so fun as well! The views at the beach are something to be seen. I just can't say enough about this place and the owners! If you have a chance to stay at the cabin, we highly recommend it! (Please don't book it so much that we can't get back there!)

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I were just looking to get away, not too far from home but far enough with no kids and no worries. We found this gem just on a whim. When I tell you it was perfect I mean it was perfect. It had everything we could ask for. We were in heaven the entire time. There wasn't a single thing we would have changed. I was so impressed by everything, not a single spec of dirt on the floor, and I'm the type to notice everything but the only thing I noticed was this was going to be a place that we are visiting every single year because we had such a great time. There was plenty to do, places nearby to eat and to get things that we needed. I enjoyed the hammock here more than I did in Puerto Rico if that says anything. Loved the golf cart. Next time I'm bringing my crabbing gear so we can go crabbing. Loved it! We told all of our friends but refused to tell them exactly where, we don't want this place getting snatched out from under us but if they find it on here I guess we can't stop them lol.

Wonderfully built cabin

My family and I were in search of a property that would allow us privacy and the feeling of a cabin in the woods. We were delighted with the build quality of the cabin and the responsiveness of the property managers. The explanations and details given in the listing matched our expectations when we arrived. We visited the town of Edenton exploring a rich history of early America.

Cute but not easily accessible for older travelers

Lots of steps and stairs. Bedroom is a steep stairway and would be challenging to get to the bathroom on the first floor during the night. We are in our 70's and reasonable fit. Owner was very kind and informed us that the sofa is a queen sleeper but we had already returned home. He even offered to extend our time. Water is also about a block away. Otherwise, cozy and quaint!

Great Small Cabin

Great cabin, everything was clean and orderly. We did have a hard time finding it, as there were no address numbers on the cabin. That’s the only reason for 4 stars on the check-in process. Other than that, it was great. Thank you!

Lovely log cabin near Edenton

We were visiting our kids and were lucky enough to stay here at this gorgeous log cabin. Everything was clean and felt new and fresh. There is a golf cart and pier to enjoy but the cabin was the best. Host responded quickly when we texted. Morning coffee on the back porch was our favorite. If you're in the area, check out this log cabin.

Nice getaway

Spent a weekend at the cabin for a last minute get out of town trip. Cabin was very clean, comfortable beds, and kitchen had all we needed for a short stay. Nice quiet location, short walk or golf cart ride to the river. Kids really enjoyed poking around the wooded areas and the water.

Beautiful property, cozy little cabin. Perfect for a little weekend away. There was a little snafu that happened when we got there and the hosts handled it immediately. They really care about their guests and we had a great time. I only mention this because often the quality of service is best judged when there is a mishap. We got A+ service and resolution.
