"We were surprised on our arrival at the condition of the hotel . We understood that the original owner sold it and has now purchased it back so it is slowly being repaired.
The rooms are dated but very clean . The staff are very accommodating and food was very good ! The lounge chairs have seen better days but the pool is very refreshing. The ocean bay was a delightful to float in for hours on end .
The Wifi is very intermittent so hopefully that will get updated also .
This hotel also hosts many church groups so I would ask prior to booking if you are looking for peace and quiet
All in all we did enjoy our two weeks in Sosua by the sea .

"I don’t know if you could call this a
Spa in the real sense of the word. I never did see the steam room or
Sauna
The room was very outdated & the furniture not very clean"
"When we arrived, they gave us the wrong Broom. We paid for the penthouse, suite and got a two bedroom suite. That was not a penthouse. We were so tired. We don’t tried to deal with it the next day. Also, there was no water in the suite, the oven did not work, they were not enough towels, and the bedsheets in the second bedroom smelt like they were left in the washing machine too long. The next day, I asked for compensation or to be paid back the difference from the Penthouse suite which I booked, and the two bedroom sweet, which we were placed in. The manager said that he would directly put back the 30 USD difference on my visa. That was almost 2 weeks ago and I have received nothing back. Also, as we were driving away, they messaged me and asked us if we had taken beach towels out of the suite that we’re missing. Of course we didn’t even use beach towels, or pool towels because we arrived at 630 P.M. exhausted after a 15 hour flight. I’m really disappointed that the manager, who have spoken to three times now still has not refunded me or made any effort to compensate me for our troubles, and overpayment as I say, it was obvious at the suite was not ready to receive us. And that they did not have the Penthouse, which I paid for ready or available. I would like the return of the 30 USD on my credit card immediately."
Casa Marina Sosua, Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was pretty clean and we had no problems. I thought the resort in itself was very nice for the price. "
The Ocean Club, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Norte
4/10 Poor
"I chose this hotel because it presents itself as a luxury resort, with rates around $400 per night. Unfortunately, the quality of the room and the overall condition of the property did not meet what would reasonably be expected at that price point.
The main curtain in my room was covered in visible paint stains and remained that way throughout my stay. For a hotel positioning itself as luxury, this level of visible wear and lack of attention to detail is disappointing.
Maintenance across the property also appeared neglected. There were dead trees in the pool area, which significantly impacted the atmosphere and gave the impression of poor upkeep.
The gym was another major letdown. There was only one machine available, and it was broken during my stay, making the facility unusable. I had to travel about 10 minutes to an external gym to complete my workouts, which was inconvenient.
Service was also very slow, and there were multiple mistakes made during my restaurant visits. The overall impression was a lack of attentiveness and care from the team, which further detracted from the experience.
Overall, the stay did not reflect the luxury branding or justify the nightly rate charged."
