Hi Siobhan, we are very, very happy to receive such positive thoughts on your stay. Simple as it sounds, we thought the wheeled shopping basket was a great idea for our guests for any local shopping. The aircon in the sleeping area of the house, means that during the day and evening guests can enjoy the lounge and kitchen patio doors open to the terraces and pool, in the knowledge that behind the bedrooms' corridor door off the lounge the bedrooms' and bathroom are kept as cool as possible, in a Spanish summer !. Hi Jon, yes, summer in the Costa Blanca is wonderfully hot and sunny but sometimes we need some respite in the form of the aircon, a lovely temperature pool and some shady terraces to relax. We provide a pool-side parasol, which frequently requires to be replaced due to breakages. We can accept replacing one parasol at a time, but would rather not do 2. The quickest footpath/village road to the village square (6 or 7 minutes) is quite steep at one part, whereas the 10 or 12 minute walk with continual sea-view has much more gentle grades. Hi Joanne, thanks for your kind review, and by the sounds of it you all enjoyed a very relaxing stay. The local restaurants cater for most tastes, ie the Italian “El Farol” and the Chinese “Singapore garden”, do exactly what it says on the tin! We do however have a few others too, still within 10 minutes walking distance, namely Cala Blanc and Travieso, both with widely eclectic menus; and our very own seafood restaurant, which sits right on Coveta Fuma beach. Note that the 3 main village square bars also serve bar snacks but wouldn’t be classed as restaurants. We note that you chose the heated pool option, and we were very happy to provide you with the swimming pool temperature being a steady 27–30°C for the duration of your stay. We are glad you enjoyed your recent stay in Villa Carlanna and thank you for your positive feedback. You mentioned hidden charges - we can only assume you’re referring to the one notice placed by the villa information folder which states if the pool is misused i.e, frequent use without using the pool shower first resulting in extra chemicals, or closure of the facility allowing the water quality to improve, then possibly an amount will be retained from the damage deposit paid on arrival. A polite warning being the aim to prevent this eventuality. As the accurate photographs of the villa show on the website, the villa is a traditional, older style property fitted out accordingly, which adds to its welcoming charm.

We are glad that, on the whole, you enjoyed your stay in Villa Carlanna. Due to the large treble patio doors; the double doors in the kitchen area and the side kitchen door, that when opened during the day immediately benefits from on shore sea breezes from the South and South West, plus the through draft from the front of the villa - the air conditioning unit for this large area was not replaced as it was not felt necessary. Additionally, a powerful Mondial premium floor standing mobile fan is in the lounge for quests to use, if required, which can also be taken onto the verandah area as no mosquitoes can compete with it at full pelt! The basic Sky package signal can be intermittent, quite normal for Spain, but we’ve never known the signal to be that bad. If we had been made aware we would have instructed the system installer to check the alignment. To clarify, Villa Carlanna is at a higher level than the neighbouring properties and no aspect if the villa can be overlooked. Indeed naked sunbathing will not prove a problem if future renters so desire - just watch out for hungry seagulls! Just to add, today I checked the TV and it worked fine, received all free to view channels? The satellite box had been turned off - so clearly all you needed to do was press the on button on the remote control!🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you for your valued comments following your recent stay in Villa Carlanna. The area around the dining area was only painted in March, so we will address your observation, as following the torrential rain the region suffered over the Easter break, maybe undetected water ingress has created a damp issue? The sun veranda sofa is due for an upgrade, but - we put off replacing this year as the size and design suit the space so well and the structure is sound, just a few areas of the wicker work have succumbed to some UV damage which we’ve repaired with fibre glass resin. Next week we do intend actually using a coloured acrylic spray on them which will definitely improve the appearance. As to cushions for the sun loungers - we have chosen robust patterned plastic loungers for hygiene reasons, guests using the supplied pool towels which are laundered between lets. We’ve found in the past, cushions get badly marked very quickly and look unsightly. We are glad you enjoyed the villa, on the whole, and the area.

Of course there is very little that we can do about the weather, but we have now installed a wonderful pool heater that can heat and maintain the pool at 27 - 30 degrees though Spring and Autumn. The 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and dining room were also freshened up with a "maintenance" coat of paint by our team in winter 2021/22.
