The shower knob was broken, but could be made to function. The owner was kind and he let us into our room early, which was nice because we were jet lagged from our flight."

"Firstly, the staff were lovely - gave me the really quiet room that I’d requested and was very much appreciated! The location cannot be more central &, though an old traditional building, it has been well maintained and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simple but fine & a bargain at €2. Will definitely return when in beautiful Avila. Muchas Gracias!"

"Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) I recently stayed two nights at Hotel Los Lanceros in El Escorial, and while there are a few positives, this establishment falls far short of the 4-star standard it claims. The Positives: • The location is truly excellent. Just a short walk to the Monastery of San Lorenzo, restaurants, shops, and cafes. It is well-situated for anyone exploring the town. • The hotel staff were respectful, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay. The Negatives: • This is not a 4-star hotel by international standards. At best, it would qualify as a 2-star property. • The building appears to have been last renovated in the early 1990s and has not been properly updated since. Everything from the elevators to the hallway carpeting, furniture, and doors shows clear signs of wear and aging. • I encountered serious issues with the air conditioning. My first room left me waking up drenched in sweat at 3:00 a.m. due to AC failure. I was told it would be fixed, but by the second night, it still had not been resolved. At midnight, I had to be moved to a second room. While the AC in the new room worked better, it was still centrally managed with a fixed minimum of 27°C, which is far too warm, especially in summer. • Even in public areas like the restaurant, air conditioning was insufficient, making breakfast and indoor stays uncomfortable in the summer heat. • The carpets throughout the hallways are worn, faded, and stained, with visible patches where repairs or replacem"

"Lovely hotel in the centre of Ávila. Comfy bed and the room had great A/C which was needed in the heat. The staff we met were all very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good for setting us up for the day. We parked in a car park just outside the city walls about a five minute walk from the hotel. Would recommend if staying in Ávila."
