Very kind and helpful hosts, who loaned their umbrellas to us and accommodated our last minute change of breakfast time when we were running late from a morning hike. "We had a lovely stay at Ella Retreat. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and included a fridge, kettle, little cooktop and kitchen sink which was handy. We had one of the best breakfasts of our trip here - it was delicious and very generous with portions, with lots of options to choose from. Just look out for the monkeys who might pay you a visit with an eye for your food! Complimentary archery was fun, and we loved the rustic charm of the place. Please note that you can not park at the accommodation - they have a parking spot at the bottom of the hill and will cart you and your luggage up in a tuktuk (about a 5 min drive up a narrow, winding road)."

"Nice hotel but be aware there is an MASSIVE 300 metre hill that is very very steep to get to the entrance. Do not go here if you are old, have bad knees or are not very physically fit. On top of this, there are 8 floors and no lift, so many many stairs. This is the only issue we had, other than that a great place to say and dead central in ella."

"Amazing place. Can’t fault a single thing. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was amazing. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Always ready to help with a buggy. Spa was amazing in a very scenic set up. Secluded yet just a few mins drive to main city centre. Pool area is nice but the pool is rather small. Breakfast is very good, made to order. Complimentary guided trek to little Adams peak just behind the resort. They gave discount vouchers for Ravana pool club and zip lining but we didn’t have time to try. Overall fully recommend."

"I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast is simple and tasty and sets you up well for the day. It’s served on your own balcony which for us had a lovely view of Ella Rock. The guest house is located very close to the Main Street which his filled with restaurants and shops. The walk there and back is very steep, but you are in Ella!! The lovely man who runs this place is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you want a local feel this is the place for you. "
