Set your kayaks directly into the clear blue waters from this creatively furnished home away from home located on Frenchman's Bay, a short drive from one of the world's most beautiful National Parks. Take walks along the secluded beach, collecting shells and sea glass. Wake up each morning to watch the lobstermen bring in their catch, possibly your lunch, right in front of the property where you can see thousands of colorful lobster buoys floating on the ocean. At the end of a fun and active day, you can relax and enjoy wonderful nights out by the fire pit while creating memories with your friends and family, all while you are surrounded by the beautiful scenic landscape that will help you recognize why Maine's wonderful allure has attracted so many people from around the world. Completely redone in 2016, this house comfortably accommodates 9 people and can sleep 10 with a role away bed and is equipped with three full bathrooms. Here you can enjoy easy mornings and cozy nights while maintaining a comfortable inviting living space for you, your friends and loved ones to share.

The newly added second story master bedroom contains a walk-in closet leading to the private bathroom and has a more spectacular views. There is a lovely dining room attached to the kitchen and living room and the other bedrooms are set just down the hall with the other two restrooms. This property has amenities such as the use of two kayaks, a large gas grill and a wide long deck that lets you relax and enjoy the sunset and sunrise over Cadillac Mountain, or watch the cruise ships as they sail into Bar Harbor for the day. Take a walk down the beach where there is an old boat landing on a public beach, or take a short walk up the road to Lamoine State Park to enjoy the activity there, as boaters and fishermen enter and exit the waters of Frenchman's Bay and children play on the play ground.

The property is also available for those special events in the spring and fall if you are looking for million dollar views on a quite 3-acre lot right on the ocean with a walkable beach.

Beautiful, tranquil home away from home in Maine

We visited this unique and wonderful home and property with our three college age kids. It was perfect for relaxation, playing games, cooking dinner and taking a break from busy days exploring.The hosts are genuinely interesting and caring people. The house is decorated beautifully with obvious love and talent. We received lots of great advice on things to do and places to eat as well.We stay in VRBO’s at least once a month and this is definitely top of our list! Highly recommend and hope that we can come back someday.

Great family stay!

We had 3 generations staying at the house for a family wedding and it was the perfect size/space for us to enjoy time together in between events. There are more stairs than we anticipated or noticed in the listing, so we had to be mindful of that with our grandfather's mobility, but we made it work! Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful retreat, the ocean and Acadia in your backyard!

We loved our stay and found this to be perfect for exploring Acadia and surrounding areas. The property was even nicer than described, with beautiful art everywhere and nicely done fixtures and amenities. Highly recommend coffee on the back deck to watch the tide come in and the lobster boats to go out!

Best vacation spot ever!

This is my second time staying here this time with my side of the family. I grow more and more in love with Maine every time we visit and this property helps that immensly. The hosts are amazingly nice and have made the inside as beautiful as outside. It was a pleasure to be able to enjoy it so much again this year. Highly recommended for families that love the coastline.

Beautiful location

Lovely, comfortable house on the bay. Pictures are accurate, beds are comfortable, and lots of amenities. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking staples, spices, and cooking equipment. The house is decorated with beautiful and interesting art work. The owner is helpful and communication is good. Highly recommend!

Amazing location with stunning view.

To truly be a great place they need to update the living room furniture and decrease the clutter in the home. It feels a bit to personal to be a rental in our opinion.

One of best vacations ever

The house was beautiful. Right on the water. We went claming got some muscles and even some crabs. The sunrise and sunset are unbelievable the view is beautiful and it was fun watching the fisherman catching their lobsters. Loved everything about it. Great vacation spot

Love Lamoine

This was a great location for us. It was the quietest place we have ever stayed & it was just what we needed. The weather was not stellar but we made the best of it. Bar Harbor & Acadia were busy - as we were warned - but if you prefer a less crowded environment- there are plenty of options. The home was well supplied with everything one could need. The owner was easy to reach & made sure all was well with us. We would stay again if we come back.

Bar Harbor view

The 6 of us seniors stayed here for 3 nights. We picked for location and we were not disappointed. Well equipped kitchen. 3 bathrooms was nice. Great views. Plenty of seating in mid-century furniture, not the most comfortable. We did have cable outage 2 nights.

A Beautiful Retreat

This is a beautiful property in a stunning natural setting. Outstanding views of the harbor. The owners were great, keeping us informed, and making sure that all went smoothly. The photos in the description are great, but in real-life it is even better. If you are looking for a retreat on the Maine Coast this is the place. Far enough to have privacy, but close enough to get to attractions in the area, such as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This is not just for Summer time. We were there at the end of December, and it was still great. Highly recommended at any Season!

Peaceful

We did a lot of chasing to Bar Harbor on this trip, but all said if we were to do it again, we would hang out at our home base, Little Edessa. The neighborhood is quiet, the setting is amazing. Had we been able to move this entire place closer to Bar Harbor, it would have been ideal. Do yourselves a favor and come here, but give yourselves planty of time to enjoy it all. The kitchen is fully furnished, the coffee is provided, the time will go much too quickly. Just lean into the beautiful setting, inside and out. The views are AMAZING! And the first thing we noticed when we walked into the house was a cruise ship. Amazing.

traveler beware

1. too many mosquitoes, can't enjoy the backyard. repellent doesn't help. 2. make sure you buy damage insurance. owner setup damaged home goods (like windows blinds, etc). once you touch it, it broke. you will be charged for a damage fee. 3. lack of communication. check in information was not sent until the date I got there. emailed owner, never response. 4. Room was not cleaned. sand and dust, everywhere. no bathroom towel.

Awesome oceanfront property

We had a fantastic stay at Little Edessa. The house was clean and fully stocked. The yard was amazing. The kids loved playing on the play set while looking out over the ocean. The home is right next to Lamoine beach, so we felt like we had our own private park. You can drive into Acadia or park in Trenton and catch the Island Explorer bus. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Fun Family Vacation

Our family had a great week in the Acadia area. We chose this property for many reasons: it's listed as ocean front, there's a sizable yard area with a playset for the children and a fire pit, and the house had enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. We were not disappointed! Our granddaughters enjoyed the playset, the yard games, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, and swimming and playing in the sand at Lamoine Beach, a 10 minute walk from the house. The adults enjoyed kayaking in the bay as well as the various wildlife seen in the bay, entertaining friends for dinner, sitting around the fire pit catching up, the quiet neighborhood, and sleeping well after a full day of activity. This property is a short drive to Ellsworth for shopping and eating out; slightly longer but manageable to Acadia National Park as well as Schoodic Peninsula. This was our first time staying here, and we will definitely check to see if it's available the next time we come to the area.

Acadia Visit

Private home with water access, grill and kayaks. 40 minutes to the park and 30 to Bar Harbor. Enjoyed our time in Maine with this home base!
