"Great hotell with a nice location. Dorcol area are amazing. If there something to put the finger on it must be we felt like the hotel was somewhat under renovation or something. "Historical Art Deco hotel in the centre of the city. Great location. I gave only 4 stars because: 1. I was given the wrong directions to the bus stop I needed by the staff on reception. 2. I was initially in room 51- which is immediately behind the lift which is old and very noisy and creaky. I was kept awake all night the first nigh, but had unpacked and was so tired I couldn’t face packing up and going down to reception etc. Room 51 has a lovely bathroom etc., and is spacious- but not fit for purpose. The next morning I asked to be moved and was refused twice before making a fuss and eventually the manager agreed. I had to pack my stuff and leave it at reception for it to be placed in the new room when it was ready. However on my return at 7pm, my bag was still sitting on reception. I was allocated another room which was much smaller, no coffee machine or tea bags or cup (but there was a kettle!), and on the front of the hotel above the pedestrian street full of restaurants and music. A other kind of noise but better than the lift! However, clean, atmospheric and characterful."

"Superbly cleaned room, nice staff, and well decorated. Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water, and a/c was great. The bed was rather hard for my taste, and at least in the room I was in, there was a constant bass noise during the day up until around 10pm each night. Made it difficult to do some work or afternoon nap after a long day of exploring. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay."
